Just a plain old Senior Member or a CAT Maharaja???

hey folks, with the forum downgrade, down the drain have gone the old tags of CAT Noob, CAT Addict and best of all, CAT Maharaja

we just get to be plain *Senior Members* now....
PG has expressed interest in revising the ranking system http://www.pagalguy.com/cat/showthre...?t=2154&page=3 (History of PaGaLGuY.com)

so put forth ur opinions and lets find out how many peep favour the present ranking system and how many want a spicier tag and want the Maharajas back

do not hesitate to put down specific ranks based on post seniority if u got any ideas

we have to have 5 ranks based on post seniority.

Eg. 20 posts = CAT Newbie and so on.....

let the posts flow

i second desiguru completely having more ranks means more fun....and more hierarchy teaches us to show more respect......especially newbies shud learn their way up

True. I was so eager to cross the mark of 100 posts and become a senior member. Now whats the incentive to post more and more.

I guess it should be first 20 one rank then 100 another then 250 next then 400 and finaly 500 mark. maybe. But I guess it shouldnt be CAT addict etc . Like there are so many whose posts have no refenrence to CAT at all.

So why not make it Forum maharaja...forum samrat or the like. And the thing is I hope like we had once before a lady in the forum complaining why all the ranks gender biased.. why not maharani and why maharaja. I hope such things do not turn up and if they do search for some ranks which are not gender biased...

The solution: whosever declares themselves as female can automatically become Maharani so that I can identify them and not make any grammatical errors.

ranking based on date of joining? cant see how it wud catch on...
people with high post counts are theose who have interacted with the forum. even when they are spammin. those who dont post, but have spent lots of time on the forum are indeed involved, but not actively....

there are quite a number of members who have abandoned their ids for a long while and yet their ids are active. for members like these, even after a year of not havin visited us, will get ranked.... and rankin does indeed affect how a newbie looks upto a particular member...

but then the junta sud put their views forward on this.

i vote against it though.

I agree here that it could be given weightage. For maybe the highest ranking.
Like you cannot get a doctorate just by being super bright... A certain amount of time is required to build a perspective.
A few exceptions could be allowed but for the highest ranking a certain time factor requirement is a good idea.
