Love "Poison" by Cooper n the Ripper series by Priest... there are a lot of great "The" bands...The Knack with "My Sharona" is one i dig.

Dunno bout Metallica lyrics being over the top dude... they're actually really good and pretty sensible.

I keep thinking bout which biggie I haven't mentioned yet... it just hit me ... Jethro Tull... what a smashing great band with their Aqualung n all.

yeh..right said fred..err..dragon

dylan was the first singer who broke the mould of singers with baritones/good voices..sample those who came before him..Sinatra, Cole, Caruso et al.

he opened the floodgates for singers who dint have great voices. yeh.."rolling stone" is a wonderful song..although i love hos "tambourine man" and "stuck inside of mobile with the mephis blues again". specially love the latter. his live album "live at budokan" has some awesome recordings of his greatest hits..

also like his "all along the watchtower" which was later also made famous by the legendary guitarist Jimmy hendrix.

alos..what about rock n roll ka pinup boy "jim morrison" of "the doors". riders on the storm..anyone

since we already have clapton..godhand..slowhand..etc etc. here, i cannot add much to his already existing fame. just that a guitar player like hendrix/clapton comes along once in a while in music.

ME ME ME ME ME!!!! I buy very very few original cds but simply couldnt resist buying the Best of Doors cd..

Riders on the storm, Light my fire,Roadhouse Blues,The end,Break On..

Oh and the list is endles.. Jim Morrison's songs didnt have much voice modulation, but were they super!!!

btw Light my fire was originally banned after the crowd in the concert went berserk and actually lit the whole city, unfortunately with flames..

have got quite a few videos of his, and there is this insane video of his where he pisses on the stage.. This was next only to the bizarre antics of Ozzy, where well he gpes one up and (EGADS!!) shits on the stage..

shalin..

now me goin to talk bout how i started with rock

will u believe if i say tht my first tryst with rock came with one of the finest black metal bands - cradle of filth and i fell for it
though now i dont admire it too much but i started pretty heavy .. isnt it

gothic romance , funeral in carpathia, from the cradle to enslaved and once upon atrocity ... few tht i cudnt do without in early days

now not much into rock but still need a daily half an hour dose of it ... otherwise my body stops working

U dare leave out Light My Fire??? sacrilege
Riders on the Storm is my touch stone for poetic efforts in rock alongside Like A Rollin Stone and Stairway To Heaven... and its not just me, moi whole family is crazy abt the song
the lit. on the tape had this to say abt it,"The grand, prophetic finale of the rain swept majesty of Riders on The Storm"......

The End was thought provoking and was downright, unabashedly seductive....

Clapton is gifted alright, but are u serious abt mentionin him in the same breath as Hendrix??? Slash is another with an almost equal claim to fame, as is Jimmy Page..

and as far compositions go, no one has or probably ever will write riffs as exquisite as Page. u need but one session with the introductory acoustic and the climaxing electric solo in Stairway to understand what i am driving at

cheers!!!!

Madness anyone?

Done anything about it lately?
