The earliest form of rock music was considered the one sung by Buddy Holly,Bill Halley and the Comets and other groups of that time.This was late 50's and early 60's and the music was very popular among youth.MAinly this kind of music was performed in parties where dancing was also involved.This kind of music came to be known as Rock n Roll,because of the dance that was happening.Rock n Roll reached its cresendo with Elvis Presley.

As time progressed and the age of rebellion came about,dancing began to disappear from rock n roll.It was the age of psychadelia,acid and many other forms of rock music.The youth began to identify themselves with this music and the age of anger and voilence found its voice in rock music.The 'roll' being dropped as dancing was no longer fit for this kind of music.

Linkin park is part of a generation of music which is most popularly called speed.Many of the newer bands are part of this culture.

i dunno if there is any spicy theory behind it, but U2's formation is just another story of bands n ppl meeting together

Larry Mullen Jr. (born October 31, 1961; drums) posted a notice on a high-school bulletin board asking for fellow musicians to form a band. Bono (born Paul Hewson, May 10, 1960; vocals, guitar), the Edge (born David Evans, August 8, 1961; guitar, keyboards, vocals), Adam Clayton (born March 13, 1960; bass), and Evans responded to the ad, and the group formed as a Beatles and Stones cover band called the Feedback, before changing their name to the Hype in 1977. Shortly afterward, Evans left the band to form the Virgin Prunes. Following his departure, the group changed its name to U2.

well,like i said that i heard it on channel v,i wud saythat it was exactly this story i heard,but then i remeber one thing too.there was one member who was included in grp just for his looks.....i wanted to know who it was.that's why i asked this question,me thinks it was bono.but as u say it(also giving the proof of it)it cudn't have been bono,but if the channel v guy was right then who was he...
