Weeellll, a thread dedicated to the Beatles is OK, I guess....they were the Fab four, after all! ....and one of my favourite bands!

Fav songs?.....I tend to like their melodic, mournful, soulful songs which have all these minor chords coming in and making it sound great! .....so......

Michelle,
Because,
Yesterday,
If I fell in love,
Something....

and their upbeat numbers too........

Wanna hold your hand,
Help,
Yellow Submarine,
Love me do,........

and of course their anthem-like 'Let it Be'..........

Fav Beatle?.....guess it would have to be Paul McCartney but if only John Lennon had been able to prolong his career, hmm......just 'Imagine'!

Nothing is as evocative as the sound of silence....or maybe my blog is
But don't be politically silent, be Politically Pagal....

And I thought I was the only guy around here who was into Retro

Absolutely love The Beatles....."Let it Be" "Wanna Hold your Hand".......list goes on and on....

Fav Beatle...Close choice between Sir Paul and John Lennon.....

Will never get tired of listening to "Imagine".....and "Jealous Guy".......ABSOLUTELY SUPERB

Anyone heard Paul McCartney's ..."Band on the Run" ...good song as well

Cheers,

Wayne

Nonsense. We came here to find the American Dream, and now we're right in the vortex you want to quit. You must realize that we've found the Main Nerve.

a music thread n me..can never stay apart for long

beatles...hmm sound ok-ish to me..not a great fan. but yes, "imagine" and yellow submarine" are two songs that i really dig.

infact this yellow submarine is like an earworm..it just refuses to go away once u've started hearing it. ..plays on and on in my poor ear

"imagine" is such a sweet song..a similar song is by Kent "Lobo" LaVoie called "universal soldier". again a song about the futility of war and fighting.

Well, actually QE bhai, the Beatles grow on you as you listen to them more and more. They were my first love as far as music is concerned....I listened to one of my dad's old Beatles tapes, and I was hooked!! So far have spent close to 2k bucks on Beatles music!!
I'd suggest you listen to their compilation "1". It contains all their number 1 singles.....I'm sure you don;t need my help locating the album!! :whatthat:

Hmmm.....we all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine....

Some of my other Beatles favourites:

In my life - really makes me nostalgic.
Something - This love ballad by George is as good as they come.
Paperback Writer, Day Tripper, We can work it out, I wanna hold your hand - all peppy numbers.....can pick you up any day of the year.
I'm the walrus, Lucy in the sky with diamonds, Strawberry fields - Neurotic kinda songs, the Beatles were experimenting with heroine/coke when they recorded these songs.....very different feel.
Across the universe - Very easy on the ears!

Well, glad to find so many like minded people here!! I'm sure there are scores more....!!

The Fab Four from Liverpool it is!!!!

My fav. songs (ok some of my..)

1.NORWEGIAN WOOD: (cant understand why only one person has mentioned it)
It figured in the top 10 songs by Rave magazine.(or was it top 5.. dunno!!)
2.I wanna hold your hand..
3.Michelle+yesterday.(well childhood sentiment attached with this.)
4.Let it Be
5.Imagine.

Amongst the worst beatles songs, i dont qutie agree with the online poll that voted Ob ladi Ob lada as the worst..

My personal worst:
Why dont we do it on the road...
Dont pass me by....

shalin..

ONE SHOULD BE CONTENT WITH WHAT HE DESERVES AND NOT WHAT HE DESIRES !
