@vivek
Makin money on the internet is not that easy - especially for a beginner. I suggest you do ur learning for atleast 3 months b4 actually trying to make some money online. Spend atleast 5-6 hrs a day reading online - go on various forums like digitapoiny, warrior forum, v7n and see how American webmasters make money- Go thru the legal ( and untethical) ways in which webmasters make money. There are some who make 5 digit figures (in $) on monthly basis doing literally nothing (but these are those guys who've slogged for 3-4 months initially). I sughest - just read read and read. If you find something interesting and feel u could gie necesaary tiime to that particular thing, give it a try. Money can be made online but initial months are very very scary. Discipline/patience is the key

Cheerz

Hi Vivek .. the most common way people make money online is by having an online space (either a blog, forum or a site) and then working towards getting traffic to it so that it can be used as an advertising medium. There are other models as well but mostly it works this way ..

I am not sure if any of the activities you have mentioned have any revenue generating potential..

as dushyant has rightly pointed out, its not all that easy ..mainly because there are two important aspects
1) Publishing quality (and legally acceptable) content continuously
2) site promotion , getting search engines rank your site higher and all that (which starts only after you have something to promote).

so to start with ... if you can write good stuff that people will want to read you can set up your own blog using free CMSs like Wordpress or Blogger.. best way would be to start with hosted versions
you can even start a community message board or a discussion forum for information sharing where the content will be user generated (much like pagalguy.com .. but PG has its own content as well)

This is just the first part ... the second part needs some essential techie knowledge along with familiarity with online marketing tools which comes with experience and time

Once you get substantial traffic, you can publish ads which will earn you the money.

Its a long process .. a blog is a good way to start..

Totally agree with the post above.. Its a long term process - Discipline in marketing your blogs is a must - Networking with other bloggers too is quite important while promoting your blog. But most importnatly content of ur blog is crucial. Once u have 60-75 odd posts on ur blog, start promoting it and at the smae time try to monetize ur blogs via various advertising options available

Hello Friends....

I think the value of studying entrepreneurship depends a lot on the specific case. Not that these are the only cases, or polar opposites, but:
  • Start with the basic truth of studying what interests you. Don’t study business to get ahead in business; study business because you’re interested. Don’t study literature to get ahead, or science or math, either.
  • If life gives you a valid choice, general education is better than business education. I’m really glad I studied Literature first, then Journalism, then business. I’m glad my children majored in education, history, psychology, and political science instead of business. First learn to think, analyze, read, and write, and you can learn business later. Not everybody gets that choice. Not everybody wants it. But if you can, that’s good.
Thanks

Re: Entrepreneurship anybody? - 12-11-2009, 08:26 PM

I agree with angel12 but in addition to theory, practical experience is a must - You are better off as a 25 year old matriculate who has worked on 3 failed ventures and finally hit the jackpot rather than a 25 year old who is an MBA from a B-School with numerous 1st prize in B-plan competions.
As u mentioned, general education helps with ur analytical abilities but practical experience helps one with innovation

My 2 cents
