i guess i cudnt convey my message correctly ..suppose i am an engg who has started out on his own (before applying to these B schools ) ...now two years post engg ..my company isnt that successful yet ...then how do i put across my work ex to the B schools and how is that counted?

Hey Puys,

Wanted your comments on my very first entrepreneurship startup venture, BookMania. BookMania is a web based library, offering books accross spectrums with a free home delivery and free pick up service, the library is limited to Mumbai currently. The website also has a forum service which is free and is open to anyone and everyone.

its pretty nice .. congrats! i knw a guy in delhi whoz attempting something similar ..selling second hand books online ..mebe u cud do also add such a feature ...theyre cheaper ..and not available in organised retail stores...like crossword...

Thnx for that suggestion, i am currently looking at that option, and that facility should be incorporated in the next 3-4 months, and glad that you liked thie concept..

The concept is really nice..no doubt abt that...the site also looks good....

Omly thing is its a lil challenging work..i mean u have to provide excellent service ..plus u need a very good collection of books...so all the best buddy...

The concept of selling second hand book is really good...i think it willl be a hit...

i would be looking forward to the second hand book thing ...since i end up taking almost a month to complete one book ...library wnt be much of an option ...secondhand book concept wud be a hit with people like me ... plus u can cover the whole country with that ..tie up with a logistics provider like Bluedart or sumthing ...

I suppose it will be. Tell them the reason why your venture failed and how a B school experience and knowledge will help u in rectifying the mistakes that u have commited in the past.Hope it helps.

then in the work-ex column of these MBA forms i can fill in 2 years and generate my own work-ex certi ? or what documents do i need to have to support my claim ? like company registration in my name etc etc ?

Are you authorized to sell second hand novels?

Idea seems good on the first hand ! Just make sure that you don't compromise on the quality of service as you expand to other cities !

How about exchanging books between your customers free of cost? Suppose customer A has a harry potter novel and customer B has Chetan Bhagat's latest novel. You can probably have a section where both of them can post that they can exchange these two novels and you can act like a bridge between them. You are better off deciding the cost for this service. Since you are already into home delivery, this might not be very difficult to implement.
