starting a CCD franchisee:

I had enquired about this. Normally (this was a year and a half back) you would need to put an upfront amount of around Five lacs. CCD would furnish the place and provide the rest of the support. The place and rent and electricity is all your burden. There is a profit sharing involved and the end result is that the returns are not that great.

You would end up earning a paltry sum, where the hassles involved are much much more and dont justify the returns.

Cheers.

Brand IIT will help no doubt, but it will work only within boundaries of higher education circle ...

my point is, how you gonna scale it up ... why i am talking about it is bcoz after starting few cafeteria, you don't want to get stuck and surely you want to expand ... this is normally happens with most of business ... when they reach at conformable size (SME), they used to get stuck because their original plan works for only for few store where they can get personally involved

PS : I feel, I might not have explained my point more clearly, so if you didn't get let me know

I completely agree with xcoolaryan.

You are targeting premier institutions. Considering you do well and manage to establish yourself there, what next?

Thats why your plan is too specific in terms of the clientèle you which to attract.

After some period of time you will invariably stagnant. And being successful you will naturally put yourself in a niche which will be a rut difficult to get out.

Thats where diversity would be the only answer.

Cheers.

Re: Entrepreneurship anybody? - 14-05-2008, 01:56 PM

My point was, many times it happens that an Entrepreneur start a business, a startup (maybe a retail store, or small scale industry or a hotel) which he able to run is quite well (double digit growth) and increase it up to certain point (such revenue 10 / 50 / 100 Cr.) and then they just get stuck .... no matter how they try they got stuck at that particular point and growth of business comes to single digit ....

I have seen many such business which after hitting certain threshold just slows down ... that;s why a scaliblity factor should be there in original plan & that's what I am expecting from you, pankajjudge

Well nice links...i must say..i happen to see this thread is getting up pace....

There is lot to be done on the rural front...we all know more than 60% of India resides in Villages..and most of the companies or MNC are turning towards Rural marketing....

I was on tour in some village in UP and happen to see that Life boy demonstrates villagers to wash their hands after going to loo, and provides them free life boy soap...and the same soap sells on the local village shops...

This kind of marketing is really puicking the pace...
