for the record, i wasnt referring to "online coaching", when i said the space was getting crowded....

Though online coaching looks like a nice and cost-effective way of selling, it doesnt necessarily mean greater revenues. The online audience is still very nascent here in India, especially for things like coaching.

The main source of revenue will, in all probability, be the "offline" part of the business, which as you may be knowing is definitely crowded.

though online coaching revenue wont match offline revenue in foreseeable future, Neo definitely has point

Sorry I dont have a more recent article
Online Higher-Education Market to Exceed $6B in 2005

Its getting there.

The point though is that for quite a few people, say repeaters, classroom coaching a second time around probably isnt required. In that case, people like SolidGyan and tenaday offer a very niche product to a very niche crowd. And they are among the first in the field!!

I love giving this example-- Remember Sabeer Bhatia? A 6month start on Y! mail evolved into a $400million sale.

Being the first or among the few first in a field makes the most business news. Of course, if you can come later with something revolutionary(GMail) you just might wipe the market clean :-D

Microsoft to buy a 1.6 per cent stake in the popular website for $240 million (£117 million), in a deal which values Facebook at around $15 billion

IMO, Facebook valuation(at $15bn) are far too stretched ..... what other have to say regarding this?
