ROR i.e Ruby on Rails is a web application development framework analogous to ASP.NET. It uses a language called Ruby and Package Manager called Ruby Gems.

Reduces development time significantly and also much easier to learn.

BTW, For iSport how much time and money did you invest? I know you cannot give exact figure but a vague idea will be helpful to get an idea about how much effort it takes to launch a web portal.

I am also programming a web app. But I am using Turbogears, Python and I am lovin it.

I am a 25-year-old mechanical engineer based in Lucknow. I have started a business aimed at setting up a network of movie exhibition units in villages, using low-cost projectors. It cost me about 20k for webspace and domains and another 10k for design and operating costs besides that have been 15k for the 3 month development period.

Oh, Thanks.. I thought webspace+domain would cost the least. But you say you spend 20K on it.. strange..

No you will get it for cheap...

we had to pay that much because we bought a lot of space...keeping our future products in mind...!

Wouldnt upgrading at a later date have made more sense? Start small and then expand as you grow along?

I guess you paid 20K is for a year rent of hosting, right?
