Chit-Chat / Your Interests Talk about your interests, ambitions, obsessions. Make friends over common interests - soccer, poetry or rock bands. It's time to lay back and relax, you don't have to make sense.

Brilliant satire - 24-02-2005, 08:40 AM

Hi folks,
Thought I would link this blogpost by S.Karthik of IIMB.
Masterly post in which he lampoons(not sure whether it is the right word) the placement process in B-schools. Do post your comments. I wouldn't be surprised
if this ends up becoming an email-favourite.

No posts so far.
Surely,it is not everyday that you get to read blogposts of such high quality!
It was only midway through the piece that I realised what it was all about.
I would rate this miles ahead of the post on South Indian names by Sidin Vadakut
which took the blogging world by the storm a few months ago.

Well,it seems I did spoil the effect, which is reflected in the lack of response.
What needs to be appreciated is his attention to detail (take for instance his
allusion to summers placement, dream option etc) .
Classy stuff.

Exactly!
I think the best thing would have been to copy paste that blog in ur first post of the thread... and then give a reference to the blog at the end.
The fact that I knew that the whole stuff was about placements and IIMB, spoiled the whole fun.

gr8 post there on the blog

infact, i was a bit perplexed at that "Girls are sent in to the room one by one where they can have a personal one-to-one with the groom. Sometimes a groom asks to meet several girls at once. God only knows what happens inside" thingie ...

Very clever. He seems to walk on a knife-edge though, constantly threatening to make the satire more bitter but stopping just short of doing so (has things to consider I guess).

Yes, your friendly neighbourhood Sea-serpent is back! Unfortunately I'm guessing no one remembers an old-timer like me.
