Did anybody here see the first Premier Hockey League Match between the Hyderabad Sultans and Sher-e-Jalandhar.

The concept is new and exciting, but looks like it has a massive hangover of ESPNSTAR EPL's coverage.
Sample this : 5 minutes into the game the pitchside commentator says this to the main commentator "Partho, The latest news from down here is that the coach has now decided to attack from the right flank"

Other comments/opinions regarding PHL are welcome

P.S.: Iam a Hyderabad Sultans fan

just watched the 1st match of PHL...hyderabad sultans(being considered my many the minnows of the tournament) beat sher-e-jalandhar(supposedly the big wigs ) 1-0...
but the sad thing was that there were no proper medical facilities available...a player got injured...there was no stretcher...the refree himself had to take the player off field with the help of some other guys..

seems like organisers hav spent entire amount of money in media blitz-making PHL popular n all that- medical fac r a must --even school level matches hav them and this is a major national event
still me luv hockey- my luv started when as young kid i read in the guiness book that india holds the record of winning most hockey golds!!

Was ecstatic when I saw that we getting a PHL! looks slick!

We have the quality........hopefully it'll become a national craze.

only hope - they let the players play!

saw a bit of Maratha Warriors v Chennai Veerans.....warriors up 3-0 in 15 mins!

way to go warriors!

Good to see junta taking interest in hockey too besides the so-called religion, cricket. (This is not to say i am against cricket or something. i too love cricket.)
Me too extremely happy at the launch of PHL. I hope it doesnt go the way as NFL did. I wish i too was working at my hometown, Pune. Desperately missing ESPN and Star. But no problem. u guys will keep me updated about the latest sports action
And yes, i invite everyone to discuss/debate the ways in which we can improve the sports scenario in our country. I have some ideas. Will come back to them later.

Regards,
Amar
