Greatest Scoop/Quote of the Year 2004 ! -
10-01-2005, 03:42 PM
Hi Guys,
What according to you was the greatest scoop/Quote of the year 2004 ?
That one thing or an expose ..if I would term it so, that remained on the front pages of all leading national dailies for a long time in 2004.
Acc to me the greatest scoop of the year was what Mukesh Ambani said to a CNBC-TV 18 reporter. " There are other issues which are domestic in nature..but of course are in different domain "...
This one line was the turning point ! It ,for the first time revealed that all was not good in the Ambani family....and the rest is history.....
Had Mukesh Ambani not given this hint....Guess what would have happened and the shape of the things that followed.....
Post your favourites here....and lets have a nice discussion on it...
Cheers !!!

For me, it was surely the Acharya Jayendra Saraswati affair... ghastly, to say the least! After all, whom to trust - he is equivalent to the Pope for Hindus
i think it is the downfall of the BJP.their over aggressivenes, communal bias and fake india shining has let them down.more so ever it also send a clear message to the political parties that the people of india prefer bhartitva to hindutva.
for me the biggest scoop of the year 2004 was commited by the media which gave undue importance to the MMS scandal and all arrests and bails that followed
it was an incident that was blown out of proportion by the print and electronic media because the accused belonged to premier school, institution and organisation.
it was sad to see that in a county like india plagued with so many serious problems that affect life and death of the citizens(eg rail accident in punjab where 50 people died,20+people died after consuming poisonous liquor in mumbai, all these accidents happened during the same time when media was busy showing us every minute details of the mms scandal) ,the entire nation is obsessed with issues that are are more relevant for tabloids in some developed western countries.
