Hi Guys

With a little more than a month to go for the Mumbai Marathon, it's time we think about Ideas on how Pgites could contribute to the Cause .

Well we at MLCS have had a lot of discussions over the past 2 Sundays and came up with various Ideas to both Raise Funds as well as Raise Awareness of NASEOH's activities. I'll try to list them out

(1)
Running for Naseoh

IF you are in Mumbai on 16-Jan-2004 then this is the Best Option to Choose . Most of us intend running the Dream Run. It's just about a 7Km run so that should not be much of a problem.

The Registration Process is fairly simple and You need to Fill up the Entry Form along with a Payment of Rs.200/- for Participation. More Details are available on this Link.

http://mumbaimarathon.indiatimes.com/reg_process.html

We intend Running the Dream Run for NASEOH as a Group Complete with PG T-Shirts and a Caption for NASEOH at the Back. As of now we have decided on Black T-Shirts ( will stand out better on Black) with a Slogan for Naseoh at the back.

The Last date for Registrations is Dec 15th so we need to act fast. Luckily the Entry Forms are available Online so all you have to do is download the same and fill in your details along with a DD or Cheque for Rs.200/-

Most of the MLCS Volunteers have already confirmed their participation. Any other PGites from Mumbai interested in this Cause you can Post on this thread signifying your interest. But Please try and Confirm before this Sunday since we intend submitting the Forms TOGETHER at one of the Registration Outlets this Sunday.

(2)
Paying to watch others run

If you are not from Mumbai or Can't make it for the Run then you can choose the Easy way out. Donate to watch another Pgite run

You could probably donate whatever amount you feel like towards NASEOH in return for which other PGites will have to run the Dream Run . Easy rite??

Just in case we don't make it on TV, you guys can rest assured that Photographic Evidence will be submitted

(3)
PG T-Shirts

The Last Idea we considered was raising Money by way of PG T-Shirts.

The Basic idea involves Pricing the PG T-Shirt somewhat higher than the Actual Cost Price for Printing and again Donate all the Profits to NASEOH. Most of us at MLCS were all for this idea, Maybe some of you guys can give us your views.

Given the Demand for PG T-Shirts...........we could raise a whole lot of Money for NASEOH

So Guys, these were just some of the Ideas discussed.

Please chip in if you can come up with alternative Ideas for the run and also what you feel about the Ideas given .

But more importantly, hope to see all the Mumbai Pgites there on the 16th .

Cheers,

Wayne

WE WILL NEED THE CONFIRMATIONS ON THIS THREAD BEFORE 12th DECEMBER 2004

PS1: FMS has scheduled it's Entrance Test on the Same Day so People appearing for the Exam will find it difficult to make it. But you can sure choose any of the other options

PS2: It's called a Dream RUN, but it's OK even if you don't feel up to it to run the 7 Kms........As Long as you can Walk the distance

Just when I thought I knew all of Life's answers.........They changed all the questions.

The dude who has started this thread is going for the FMS exam

How can we run for NASEOH without Wayne amongst us ?

Given that the Tshirts are gonne be black, the material has to be okay enough for us to get thru the 7km in one piece.

btw Wayne, I thought abt it, yeah feel like doing it (run, walk, crawl whatever )

Ok, here is the big question .. there is this thing abt "Are you running for a cause ?" which costs an extra Rs 100. Are we doing this ? If not, and we're seen with NASEOH logos, what happens?

Guys wake up! Its time to get your A$$ off the seat and do some good for the community. A Bunch of PG Guys including I , will be running the Dream Run Marathon. We intend to run for the NGO - NASEOH, which is the NGO we work with. They work with the physically challenged. Their website can be found at : http://www.naseoh.org/

The idea is to spread awareness amongst people about the NGO and also try to raise money for a good cause. Meanwhile, you guys are free to nominate any runner on the forum. We can 'coax' the person the run and ofcourse it would be even better if you could donate some amount of money to the cause as a matter of goodwill!

So wake up all yee folks, time is of the essense as registration ends in a week or so!

I pledge Rs. 1K for the event and will also take care of the logistics of the Tees etc ..( what is the point in running without plastered on it ) !

Jago jago junta!

PS: Donations/Goodwill/Runners accepted from anywhere across the nation

PPS: Who'd like to pledge an amount to the cause.. we can get Christy to run

PPS : Runners/Walkers/Crawlers/Waterboys - all apply right here on the thread

Way coooooooooool Zango !! Now thats called setting a precedent!!! After discussing with our junta, we have decided that cheques would be accepted directly in the name of NASEOH, Inda

So send over the cheque with the name, and post your pledge amount on the forum. Whatever it may be, let us ensure that more people read about the cause and join in

Whenever you are ready, just PM me for the address!

Supervish, I spoke to Ms. Sudha, the DG at NASEOH. She saw our point of view and has told me that she will let us know tomorrow about the 'run for charity' clarification. The only issue being the Tees. Lets see what comes up tomorrow!

PG,
wud be easier if i can send an e-check - using direct debit facilties available with ICICI bank/Citibank. I could send the money to one of you guys and you can represent me as well - infact, it might be kewl if the individual contributions from various ppl on PG (pagalguy.com) are represented as one collective contribution from pagalguy.com

if this doesn't sound cool, am okay to send the cheque - dunno if it will reach in time. if you think the individual cheques are a better idea, plz post the address details to me (or in this thread).

Cheers

Edit:

Would like to add that I would like supervish to run in lieu of me.

Vishy, u better run (and run hard) or else
