Hello Friends,
This topic sprang up in my mind when I was posting a reply on some other thread. I touched upon an issue of Emotional Quotient (EQ) in Management. I was not able to put it in proper terms I guess, and also, I might have hurt someone’s feelings which is reflected in -1 Karma… lol…
Anyways… What I intend to do through this thread is –
1. Discuss the management style WE (the managers in the making) will adopt when we will take up the corporate job.
2. Get some insight from the guys already in IIMs and other hallowed bskools in the country (and outside may b…) about the importance of particular management styles
If I have to talk about myself I’d say I believe in importance of EQ… I don’t know if this particular point is stressed upon in the pedagogy of the management institutes I wanna enter…
What I always think is whenever a man has to handle himself he has to use his brain and when he wants to handle others he has to use his heart… I’m no way involving sentiments here… but just a thought that management is all about handling others so we gotta b emotional to some extent…
I may be wrong when I say this… and I wanna know if I really am from all those who have a say on this issue…
I guess management style varies from person to person but there are definitely certain traits which make a manager successful… it would b gr8 help if all the fellow PGites who hv already passed out frm the bskools and already handling corporate responsibilities and also those who are in the institutes around the country to put in their valuable insights…
Ciao,
