The story is derived from a Japanese Novel written way back in the 60's (or maybe even earlier...not sure about that).

As for the movie Don Corleone has hit the nail on its head, it is a masterpiece of a movie, genuinely scary without any blood,gore or ugly faces of any kind and thats what makes it special. I did watch the Japanese version alone in a home theatre at 11:00 in the night and have say that it really freaked me out....especially the last scene which will really hit u hard...

The Blair Witch project too was something fantastic......has to be one of the best made movies......

anyone remembers a movie called"the final destination"..i think thats the name..
the one in which one guy feels that a plane will blow up and it does..and then one
by one the survivors startdying...i thot that was a scaaaary one...since most of the
scare part is psychlogical in it..also how can neone not think of
PSYCHO....that was scary ...esp the scene in which this one guy walks up the stairs
into the room in which the psycho has stuffed up his mom..while seeing it i was literally screaming in my head...dont go in....
i feel that blood and gore,monsters coming from nuclear test mutations and ...hopelessly pimple faced chudails we get in hindi flicks etc..are more comic than scary..
the real scary ones are the psychological thrillers which keep guessing and not quite sure of whats gonna happen next...
even sixth sense was scary in bits..
for realistic blood and gore ..i think the pick wud be saving private ryan and
gangs of newyork(one hell of a movie)
kill bill's blood n gore was more of a spoof of such stuff..

but 1 must admit the ending in the ring was pretty lame i mean the part were u can evade death by just making a copy of the tape & getting some1 else to watch it. they could have atleast killed all the leading characters

and by the way i think there was another movie called fear.com or something with a similiar theme were u visit a website and u die in 7 days.obviously a rip off of the ring.

and by the way those of u who havent seen "ju-on" do check it out its quite cool atleast it freaked me out.

hey pearl texas chainsaw massacre is loosley based on him the actual psycho's name was ed gaines he killed just 2 ppl and not like in the movie were 7 or 8 college kids are murdered.

but ya he did put one of his victims on a meat hook and skinned the other person like in the movie. i think one of his victims was the town sheriff's mom. that was a stupid thing to do.

hey anderson kill bill's blood and gore was a spoof of old hong kong movies like street fighter (not the van damme movie) and those drunken monkey series. these movies usually featured sonny chiba in the lead (hatorri hanzo in kill bill) so killbill 1 was basically a tribute to those hongkong flicks. and by the way uma thurmans yellow and black track suite in the showdown at house of blue leaves is a tribute to bruce lee he wore the same kind of track suite in the game of death.
