Moi too a big BIG JG fan... Have read all his books except the Broker....

My 4 JG favs
1. The Rainmaker
2. The Brethren
3. The Chamber
4. A Time to Kill

Rainmaker is without doubt Grisham's best book. It is wonderfully plotted and has a great pace. Rudy Baylor's trials and tribulations, both on and off the courtrooms are well portrayed. Especially well written are the courtroom session battles between Baylor and the great Leo F. Drummond with Tyrone Kipler "facilitating".... The complete humiliation that Baylor wrecks on the Great Benefit head honchos (remember Section U?) during the trial makes for amazing reading....
All in all, an amazing author!

planning to read more of grisham once i find some time

which one of his books should i read first.
considering i have little time and read books few and far b/w
i personally feel that "the runaway jury" is the best of the lot.... the client and the partner are also quite good...the ending of the partner is very unexpected...
as has been repeated time and again in this thread...grisham is losing his touch......his last two books have left a lot to be desired....
painted house is also good.
shows how versatile he is as an author....

Grisham - 29-04-2005, 05:15 PM

Hi guys,

I'm a John Grisham Fan too...so much so that i've read all his books...the last one being The Broker. I love his courtroom dramas esp the one in Runaway Jury...which till date remains my favourite of the lot. However, I also like the first person narration in Rainmaker and the Broker...I think he's really good at it!

My next favourite is The Testament...its a soul searching novel...really good.

One thing abt Grishan is that you can expect a great ending...though at time he's predictable.

grisham loosing his appeal - 29-04-2005, 07:32 PM

i am a grisham fan myself , have read all of his books except " the street lawyer". but i think with his recent books, he is becoming predictable, the books are loosing it's appeal. i think grisham should try to reinvent himself
