My old nice Doordarshan - 23-05-2005, 07:40 PM

Was amazed to see this thread, neways

had my cable TV cut coz of my bro's 12th a month ago. Was back to my old nirala Doordarshan. But to my dismay, they r a very few good progs these days on DD.Am i right?

Progs like Surabhi etc are nowhere to b seen.

News readers like suneet Tondon etc sab gaayab ho gaye, DD news too is very dull.

I tink they shud get bk to the their old strategy--- repeat progs, i bet, they will improve DD ratings.....

I still remember i used to be in school and in the mornings would watch this Chacha Bandukji, and in the evenings Didi, Derrick, Zaban Zambhalke, dekh bhai dekh, Surabhi I used to write to them every week, byomkesh bhakshi, those lovely english late night movies - those good old days can never forget them still lingers fresh in my menories.

I'm Now in Australia and I managed to get the entire collection of Didi's nonstop Nonsense and i'm trying to get Derrick now.

Hey DD lovers... err...he he.......waise me loved Karamchand, Tehkikaat, Byomkesh Bakshi... I agree with almost all the arguments made by Arun a.k.a. Psychodementia in post # 3....but i would certainly not miss watching these serials....

anyhow...there were absolutely bekaaaaaaaaar serials on DD tooo... one of them being Shahrukh Khan's Fauji.. .. I don't know why such a big deal is made out of this one....it was mediocre....

But I love DD for introducing me to Spiderman..... but now that i think of it...if there were private channels then...they would have introduced it much before DD did....hmmmmmm...hey I am confused...should I like DD for introducing me to Spidey or should I hate it for doing it so late...

Went throygh the whole thread .. revived a whole lot of memories .. I used to get so excited watching all those mythologival serials especially Mahabharat that i used to make a Bow and Arrow and pretend to be arjun and stuff.. However nobody seems to remeber Potlibaba ki Kahani.. used to be about some old man carrying a sack and telling stories to children.. if is remeber correctly..
cheers

contiuning the topic.
Doesnt any1 remember yeh duniya gazab ki?
I dont remember a thing abt teh seriall except the title track:yeh duniya gazak ki yeh duniya gazak ki,yeh jaise aaj kal hai, nahi thi aise kabiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.
n who can forget karamchand,I remember him munching carrots and saying “Shut up Kitty” all the time
mumbaites would also remmber 100(ek shunya shunya),shivaji satam was excellent in it.
Sorry,if I am getting overtly nostaligic, but cant help it...
