I remember there was one series based on time travel which i loved, dont remember the name though!I think i used to watch almost everything that came on TV then. Infact there was a time, when i was really small, i used to sit in front of tv everyday before the 7 o'clock news and watch it even though tab kuch samajh mein nahin ata tha!! I dont know what i found so fascinating abt it!!

dnt worry..we'll were small dat time..ahh the gud ol days...neways dnt u remember street hawk...the serial was abt this guy who has a frnd who made a sleek black bike with all those crazy fitting and he used to fite crime incognito..i remember that after this serial one tyre co had it in thier ads..dnt remember which one...

abt that time machine wala serial but even i cant recollect..can any1 help me on this???

its so nice to c a thread on DD serials reminds me of good old days when i was a kid n used 2 watch DD(1 channel 4) DD(2 channel 7) thts wht my grandpa used 2 call them n then the starting tone of telecast evry morning at 7 it was gud...
malgudi days,karamchand,humlog,buniyad were all gud serials
reminds me of somethin whnevr someone used 2 ask me names of days i used 2 rattle sunday,monday,tuesday.we,thur n yeh jo hai zindagi....
tht was the charm of those serials feeling nostalgic now...

Always watch this one with my uncle...just watch the actions like people fighting,some politicians shouting etc..and they also include a lot of science news and I used to love them..me and my cousins go on over hours discussing abt those Science news...like a satellite sent up in space,
some intersting animal or human facts etc ( and each one of us used to add a lot of stories to them...99%fiction 1%fact )

ELECTION RESULTS:
I didnt know wht they were but used to watch them with my uncle...love the Ads between those discussions..and just keep watching blank...

THE WORST TIME ON THE DD were the days when they used to telecast the RATH YATRA 24 hours LIVE wonder who used to watch them?

the tyre was MRF Nylogrip....the man,...the machine,...Sreet Hawk,err..., the tyre, MRF Nylogrip! ring a bell?

and the time machine story, was it Jantar Mantar?...remember it had something to do with space, but Iam fuzzy about the details.

n who cud forget Udaan(kavita choudahary defyin all odds)...then there was chunati..i wud rate it as one of the best serial on college life , neev(it was abt this residential school)

hey there was this serial abt 4 schoolkids who used to do some detective work..dnt really remember which serial it was but the theme song was somthing like..."ek do teen chaar, ek do teen chaar, chaaro milke kam kare toh kar de chamtakar"

yeah apart from "mile sur mera tumhara" i used to love the other one which had all the sports personalites caryyin the torch..

then GLo freinds, humlog, ramayan(i still watch it sometimes on starplus )

okie this wasnt in dd but still i consider them one of the few gud serials durin that time..

neone remembers sledgehammer, automan , remington steele(star plus) and there was this series on hercule poirot(dnt remember whether it was on dd or star)

dnt knw why they dnt make serials like that..im sick of all ekta kapoor and jassi types serials

Spiderman immediately followed by Didi's comedy on sunday evenings.....buniyaad,knight rider,street hawk,giant robot,fauji,circus,surabhi,chitrahaar,malgudi days and the mythologies were some of my most watched programs on DD......Prannoy roy's new programs were also a favorite....

cable came to my house in 1997(why??studies what else!!) so i am a real veteran of DD. MY Fav was Vyomkesh Bakshi, loved all the comedy serails on DD metro. as already mentioned those songs on national integration were gr8. i even learned few words of many languages through it. Same for the sport personalities carrying torches and ending with a gr8 crowd in the sape of the tricolour(or am i mixing up)

many a sunday mornings i hav spent watching Ramayana n Mahabharata on the telly. I remember that once going on a bus trip the driver stopped at a roadside dhaba on the special request of da passengers so that they cud watch Ramayana-some ppl even started singing hymns and bowed before Arun Govil n Dipika.

my fav cartoon was Mowgli-did not miss a single episode of it!!
DD was a real pain in the *** when some past PM or Prez died and then we had national mourning for 2-3 days with nothing but sad shastriya sangeet thru n thru .

ditto for the rath yatra and other religious programs.. another source of much heartburn was when in the middle of a day n night cric match arnd 8:30 pm there was a brk of 1 hour for da eng and hindi news-used to wait with bated breath for the sports segment of the news.
but stiil DD was DD . still watch it sometimes though

well guess wht.. me not jus a veteran of reCAT bt also my state level engr entrance was a Rexam -- same story....leak.. n had rushd home frm the first paper to get da cable installed.. ( Rsn for not installin b4 - padhai kharaab na ho ) and wht do i see da first thingy on cable.. xam got leakd news..

well thr wer somany serials and movis sunday evenings i think on DD.. samachar mein all those ladies.. sukanya , manjri joshi n another one with her fav one liner "Unhone Kaha" for all the PM' speeches.. n that male reader with a potato nose..! dat revolving circling DD symbol.. haa sure was fun...
