Hehe...brings back nice memories...Remember watching Junoon on DD Metro...Had fabulous actors like Archana Puran Singh, Rajesh Khattar & Neelima Azim........Also there was Kanoon at 8.30...Wonderful detective serial...Then there was the Kitu Gidwani starrer Swabhimaan at 2 pm...Great serials all of them

And what he greatly thought, he nobly dared.

Surabhi with renuka shahane n sidharth was one awesome show.
I wonder why they dont have such shows now.

There was another one... Oshin... it was dubbed.
Byomkesh bakshi n tehkikat were 2 really good detective shows.
Jungle book talespin

Junoon, swabhimaan n all were awesome too.
There was a show on math fundae too. ank ajoonba i think. used to be glued to it.

The sword of tipu sultan was my personal fav
n yeah..who can forget ramanand sagar's mahabharat .

Humlog... the list goes on n on...

I dunno abt others but i sometimes do watch DD for sometime. Find it amusing compared to other channels.

Life's good...

Oh damn how did i miss "Tehkikaat"

It was super awesome. I was huge fan of Sam and DeSilva Sam with brains and DeSilva with brawns.

Surabhi was fun too, Tour around remote parts, Fan letters, discussions it was insightful, right mix of creativity and our culture.

Hey guys.. thanx a lot for refreshing my memories..
I had been trying to get hold of any of those good old serials but could not get any except Byomkesh Bakshi..
nyways.. do u people remember "phir wahi talaash", "palaash ke phool" , "ajnabi" (Danny Dengzongpa's fame), "kali ganj ki bahu", "kashmakash", "chunauti", "udaan", nd there were many more...

can anyone tell me the name of the serial whose title song was like
"moonh ki baat sune har koi.. dil ke dard ko jane kaun"..??

i know the answer as it was one of my fav. serial...

I remember some names too

1: On coming back from school on second saturdays (that used to be a half day for us) ---- Shanti (mom used to watch it religiously)

2: Then my personal favs ---- Tehkikaat (i remember one episode that almost gave me goose bumps, the one where a magnet was used to move a chair from the floor below it), Surabhi, Nukkad, Zabaan SAmbhaal Ke, Vijay (a gang of 5 ppl Vijay, Inderjeet, Jasmin etc...their initials adding up to spell VIJAY), Filmy Chakkar (Satish Shah), and some more......

3: Mom used to watch Ghutan, Swaabhimaan etc....

4: Then there were the best...Malgudi Days and Byomkesh Bakshi

AH DD seems to be everywhere today.Just posted on my blog about the real good stuff DD had compared to the extremely idiotic stuff private channels are churing out

BHARAT EK KHOJ
TAMAS
DEKH BHAI DEKH
SURABHI..........
