Its not actually a mistake or rather it was . I am still not sure , but i learnt a lot from this experience .

I was too serious about this CAT thing. Joined aimcats and CL test series. Wanted to get 99.xx in every other mock. I was an above average student so wanted atleast above 90 everytime.

Aimcats started and then started the depression session. Got 80%ile in the first one.. thought that if i study for 15hrs a day, i can get a 90. Started to clock 14 hrs a day doing stupid DI QA questions. My life had only 3 things. DI QA and VA. No social life.. no time for having fun..Next few mocks got straight 50s 60s in 5 mocks back to back.
I was shattered.. Increased my study time from 14 to 16 hrs. Slept less and ate less. No time for friends , no facebooking and left my passion i.e writing.
Got a 60%ile again in next few mocks.. I was in deep mess. I didnt know what was going wrong. All my friends were getting 95,98,99% in all mocks and I was sure that i am better than them.. I didnt know what the problem was...

Then came a fairy in my life. She was my senior. I told her all these things.She just gave me one tip " Take it easy.These exams cant make ur life. Chill maar and dont take these exams/mocks seriously".

I packed my CAT books in a bag and kept in my dad's room for 2 weeks. Did what all i wanted.. time for friends.. family outings , writing and facebooking .


Sab kara in those 2 weeks. Went to write mocks like they were not important. They were no more THE most imp things in my life. In Those 3 mocks i got 98%s.
I changed my attitude and outlook towards life and these exams.

Learning from this - Take life easily. Bas ek life.. inn exams ke chakar mai barbad mat karo.. and these aptitude tests just judge ur APTITUDE and nothing else. Working hard is imp , but not at the cost at your life.

This is the tip i give to my juniors who ask me how to prep for CAT.

PS - If anyone of you would be writing CAT for the 1st time in 2010, then please take note of this. Dont make ur life hell just because u want to get into IIM. BMW khared ke kya karoge yaar.. jab maaze karne ke liye life he nahi hogi..

hey I would like to share one of mine experience- During my school days i used to get my uniforms stitched by one she was really gud in her work. one day I went to her shop to take my trousers and she kept me waiting for half an hour when she game me my trousers she said "So sorry to keep you waiting for so long" and guess what I said to her "No Thank you" she seemed to be shocked of what I have said and people standing adjacent to me started to look at me I just took my trousers and got out of the embarrassing situation after that I used send my mother to that shop I always used to refrained myself to visit that aunt's shop, I am smiling while writing this post as well this is the first time i am telling this to anyone.
