while making a 4W driving license, had got a 2W learning license sometime back.. but that expired.. some crappy rule says u shud convert it to a pakka license widin 6 months... so again got a new 2W learning license... n voila! 6 months flew by and that too expired..
now have stopped worrying for a 2W license... have been caught sometimes... 30-50 bucks n u can zoom away to glory !
my car still doesnt have a PUC n an insurance (tho i know its in my good to have one ) ... n to zoom away wen caught, 70-100 bucks wud do d trick..

aah ! n u neednt say.. plz answer truthfully...

Well i think its our decison whether we want to be a par tof this corruption or not.
Passport:I got my passport without paing nything extra, though it took 1.5 yrs to come and i was in no hurry( hvnt been to any country except india)

DL: we(myself and my best frnd from skool) thought of making it without paying any bribe. So we went to the RTO, filled the form and did all the process. after sweating for around 4hrs, we finally got our learning license.
Now after one month, u can convert the learning into permanent. so we went to see the inspector, who was supposed to take our test. before this, me and my frnd had gone thru all the symbols and the rules of traffic . The inspector was clearly not happy to see us without a agent. so he asked to me to come for a driving test and the car shud be mine only. Now there was a poorly maintained track which when a child could had cleared(few S to be made, a circle was to be completed and other kidish things). But that rascal, told me to put reverse gear without stopping my car, he wanted me to shift gears from 2nd to reverse, without stopping. When i protested that this cannt be done and doing this will damage my gear box, he simply wrote, not familiar with reverse gear and i was failed. My frnd who had applied for the same was also failed bcoz of the same reason. Now the rule says that once u hv failed, u cannt apply for next one month.so after 1 month we went back to RTO, got hold of an agent, paid 600 bucks each and our DLs were ready without even meeting the inspector again. I know, we could hv tried again, failed again and then tried again(i was in no hurry here also) but we decided my car wont take another test by tat inspector. So on cost-benefit analysis we thought that bribing is better than honesty.

There are other cases too, but none of them are worth mentioning.......

I think there are two parts to this question.

1) Have i ever acted in a corrupt manner in professional or personal life?

In professional or personal life - NEVER

2) Have you ever helped / added to corruption directly or indirectly.

Indirectly - Yes, i have taken help of agents to get my Driving license and get my bike transferred to my name. But i think you cant help it at RTO they have one reason or another to make sure that you keep on running around... with little output.

Whenever I get a new seat cover for my bike it tears it apart. I & my roomie decided to tech it a lesson. one of my friend is addicted to pan masala, onr fine day we observed that the dog is give with the bowl of milk and it was not nearby. We emptied 5 packets of Pan Masala into. Doggie drank it all and froze to hell. It couldnt move 1 centimeter also. Although it was fun that time we realised that we shouldnt have done this.

Although I do not like to generalize...Almost everyone would be involved in some kind of corruption or other. Be it Big or Small, Important or trivial, Good or bad, be it anything!
For example a bribe. And this is a 2 sided affair... the person who gives is to blame...and the person who takes is also to blame.
Kaafi baar bribe ke bina kaam hi nahi hota
Its like...later u realise that u have actually bribed the person (sometimes the system becomes such that the rates r fixed... itna paise dedo to kaam itna jaldi ho jaega...although those things r not written anywhere). The only bad thing is...corruption happens at EVERY LEVEL.

In short....answer to your question is 'Yes' ... again the same things...traffic police. They dont give a ticket... they just take the cash and let u go.

Personally/professionally I have never been involved in any corrupt practices.
