hii guys...nice topic...
will be supporting italy......but just think that sometimes they get too defensive and lose the killer instinct.......inzaghi 'll be a big blow.....lets hope they pull off something and yes they shud win within 90 mins....penalties...not again for italy..
guys any idea who'll be leading them??/will it be totti??

2. Sweden

Grp D: 1. Netherlands

quaters Spain beat England

Errr.......yes! The Czech Republic are! They topped their group (inspite of Holland being a part of it) and the Dutch therefore had to play Scotland in the playoffs to qualify....they did that (1-0 loss in the first leg....and a 6-0 thrashing in the second for a 6-1 aggregate)

BTW, correction, Henry is NOT the best striker in Europe.....RvN, Raul, Morientes are all better than him as pure strikers. Henry is incapable of heading the ball remember??????
At a pinch I'd rate Makaay and RvdV also better than henry in terms of striking ability.

My faves:
1. HOLLAND!!!! (My all-time faves, as my nick will show )
Players to watch out 4 : err.....how many do I name? RvN, RvdV, Robben, Sneijder.........all of them actually....when they click, they are unbeatable...easily the best team on paper and in terms of sheer talent.

2. Portugal (Last chance for the Golden Gen. Figo, Costa, Gomes, Deco.....)
But the player to watch out for : Cristiano Ronaldo......away from the restricting confines of the English game, I am really looking forward to some wizardry from him.....

3. Spain. It was heart-breaking to see them crash out of WC02 to those horrendous refereeing errors. Great team on paper...best league in the world....and with Morientes in this kind of form and Valeron and co. as support, they should come good hopefully......finally.....

Cheers!
Mike

PS: This is my 500th post and I really could not have wished for a better topic to post on. Rock on guys....

Yippee...another Italy fan . Yeah, hopefully no penalties...but considering that they have two of the best goalkeepers in the world, it's still amazing how the shoot-out has become something of an albatross around the collective Azurri neck...

If he's fit, it'll be Cannavaro...

Well, on a different note, did u guys see the game between brazil & france last nite, excellent match, no goals but still it was 90 minutes very well spent. For France, Zidane was just superb & so was this new guy mendy. Henry was off color so was Trez.......but match belonged to brazil.....ohh boy what a team....cafu was splendid, so was ronaldinhio & junhinio.....inspite of the draw , brazil's supremacy was clearly visible. Good game all in all.

Wow, Cool to see so may football enthu's

Really really looking forward to EURO 2004
Here are the teams that I think will move to quarters from their groups

A : Spain , Portugal

B : England, France

Cenmark , Italy

D:Germany,Holland

I'll be cheering for Holland, theyve been my fav team, way back from the times of Van Basten, Frank Rijkard and Ruud Gullit. Really hope they kick ass and win it this time. Its sad to see them underperform so often :(

Amongst the other teams, I think France have an amzing team...and they have this amazing DOOD called Zidane....man can he handle pressure or what !!!!!

Italy is a great team too, one of my all time fav's ....And they shud do well....provided ofcourse they dont let too many matches goto penalties
