Blasts in India -
13-09-2008, 08:36 PM
Five explosions rocked three crowded markets in Delhi today evening, leaving at least 18 people dead...
The first blast took place at Ghaffar market in which at least 20 people were injured.
Immediately after that, two explosions took place in Connaught Place in which at least 10 people were injured. ..
Another explosion rocked M-Block market in Greater Kailash-I
I was in my CAT class(CP center) when some sms started pouring in ... it was around 6.15 pm .. that there has been a blast in Ghaffar market in Karol Bagh....
the buzz started in the class , and we were just about to convey r concert to leave CP as soon as possible ,as CP is one of the prime targets..
Suddenly a bang was heard.... My first reaction was Ohh GOD not in CP...!! It was a Bomb Blast.... !!
But then ... again a sms from a friend and a call from mom... !!
There was another blast in CP.. palika parking was the site......
Palika parking is just 100 meters from my center...
i always parked my bike in palika parking only.. but i dont know y today , i over shoot the parking and had to park some where else...
I always saw this in movies..and cursed the story writer for such a fictitious story..
BUT .. this happened to me this time...
It was all smoke around.. people running here and there..
we all left the class and took r bikes and rushed out of CP...
Police, taffic jams all around the place..
I did a tripling on my bike to take 2 people of the site..(was the first time , i was not chalaned after tripling)
never seen so many police vans, ambulances... police siren at a single place...
All the mobile phones jammed ... still not able to contact 2 of my frnds who were in CP at the very same instant of the blasts.. !! Metro not working.... buses being stopped.. I hope they all r safe..
Latest feeds-
2 live bombs found in Central Park...
2 at India Gate...
1 found at Regal cinema....
God knows whats happening to our Country...
God bless all
After this... i have started believing in GOD more than every before...
had i been in palika .. had my bike been parked there, had i not overshot the place???!!
There thoughts r making me wonder more and more.....!!!!

Yes.... i would also suggest that...
though i believe, if u sit back and avoid these places, the main motive of the terrorists is solved.. they want this thing only..
1st thing is.. dont create panic if u hear or see something like this...
Rest all falls in its place..
Life continues anyhow..
and a good news... those 2 of my frnds are safe now and have reached more safely..
Casualties today is a really sad part..
One thing i feel good about my self is, i helped 2 people get out of the bomb site.. they were really scared after the blasts.. i made them sit on my bike and took them till the next bus stand..where they got there buses for their respective residence...
Some thing to feel good about.. never felt i could be of any good to this City.. or my nation in this way...

Its really sad to hear about the blasts and i myself have been in a state of shock since then coz my parents have been stucj in delhi. They are safe, but till the time they get back home, i'll be worried.
Aayush, can u pls edit your post as it says that there have been 100 casualties. No news suggests that and it might create a panic.
May peace prevail soon. Hope everybody is fine.

Very true... we need peace at his point of time ...
even i could never imagine that delhi once again would be hit by blasts, even after such a high security...

Whats is needed is that we need stand united and show the world that nothing can let us down..
This is another test for us to prove our courage and not panic.

1. Time to implement P.O.T.A to empower the Police to stamp out terrorists and their sympathizers with extreme prejudice.
2. Fire Shivraj Patil. Under that guy the situation has gone from bad to worse.
Just my two cents
