Very nice thread indeed.. Chit Chat section is sure going the right way
Here are my views:
Infrastructure - Delhi/Bangy
Opportunities - Bangy/Mumbai
Food - Kolkata - Come on it has to be Kol Dilli is very close cuz of Parantha gali
Quality of life - Chandigarh/Chennai (U have everything here)
Visual beauty - Gangtok (truly a heaven on earth)
Activities/things to do - Dilli/Mumbai
Weather - Bangalore (This has to be Bangy)
Cost of Living-Chennai and Kolkata (U can't get a cheaper life anywhere else. These cities are mighty cheap. Esp. Kol)
Safety/Crime rate- Chennai.. Truly Chennai. U hardly hear of any crime here.
Overall - Can go to Kolkata/Chennai...
There are various reasons I say Chennai cuz I live here. U can never come down to Chennai for a holiday. But u wanna spend ur life here, start a business of ur own and reside for say 30-40 yrs, I think it's the best city.
Kolkata is one city which is very close to my heart emotionally It's just about a perfect city.
It can never be Mumbai or Delhi

Somehow, I am very surprised to see people not mentioning chandigarh/pune enough here.
Chandigarh has the 2nd highest per capita income in the country, the greenest city (yes bangalore lost the place), the cleanest city, the most well planned city, highest number of per capita millionaires, highest number of 4/2 wheelers per capita in the country. One of the highest quality of life. It has an IIT coming up near it, with the second ISB campus planned in Mohali (Satellite town). It has an upcoming film city, knowledge city. It has an IT park that has the leading companies operating out of it, with Infosys having the second largest operations center in India after bangalore coming up there. It is located at the foothills of the himalays. Half an hour and you can be in a zone with a difference on about 5 deg. celsius immediately. It is located just 4 hours away from the Capital. What more do you want from a city....? | | | | | The Following 6 Users Say Thank You to str1der For This Useful Post: | | | | | |

Hi.. Well no doubt Chandigarh is the most well planned city of India.. It may also have More per capita (Income, Vehicles.. whatever).. But i guess hardly anyone from nearby states comes there to settle down.. most of the population is Punjabi(localites) coming from rich Family background.. apart from this if u have a look over the profiles of other COSMOPOLITAN cities (Mumbai, Bangalore).. u would find lakhs of people coming to these cities from all over India.. They are the cities of Oppurtunities.. Mumbai specially..( Note:- I m from LUCKNOW). People of all standards live here.. from RICHEST - POOREST.. Dreams become Reality here.. Mecca of Economic growth and Entertaiment.. Economic structure and growth of India depends upon this city.. according to a survey .. 44% of the total Income tax collected from India comes from MUMBAI alone.. gosshhhhh.. Population Outburst probably, has been the biggest reason for the bad Infrastructural conditions.. but then how can u stop lakhs of ppl coming here EVERYDAY.. Proper decisions are being taken which would make MUMBAI .. ABSOLUTELY WORLDCLASS..
