I have always thot of Tennis and Basketball to be two glamour sports.With NBA conference semifinal playoffs around I keep thinking of starting a thread on that. Somehow delaying it cos Iverson guru is not there anymore so it hurts to see and discuss NBA without 76ers in the playoffs. But anyways tennis is here.. My fave players ..
1.Goran Ivanisevic his serve,attitude and his famous win in 2001. Three finals losses and still a chance to take part in Wimbledon via a wild card and survive a gruelling five setter to win the cup.Destiny ,poetic justice,lady luck.Whatever you call it I have only phrase that comes to my mind- Stuff dreams are made of..
2.Becker-His trademark dive to retrieve a point ,parallel to the ground and hand twisted in a manner that extends just to let the racket reach the ball and those eyes that expressed a confidence it will be a winner!
3. Namma Leander - My youth icon on the other thread..
4.Jimmy Connors-Havent seen much of him.Only on old videotapes from BBC and at times on DD sports.However have heard people speak volumes about his bulldog never say die
5.Andy Roddick:One among current players for his whiplash serve and for the fact that he wears Reebok .

With regard to Wimbledon finals what is common to Becker,Lendl,Connors and Laver ?(a record that they wud not be exactly proud of).
