I've been on a little gadget-spree of late (last 6 months)
- Cowon D2 - An amazing little MP3 player, one of the best in the world as far as sound quality goes. Bought for 5500 bucks from Amazon, USA. MRP in India is 8990!
- Sennheiser PX100 - One of the best rated supra-aural headphones in the world. They walk all over those shitty buds that come with iPods. MRP in India is 2600, I got this as a gift from a friend in Dubai.
- Sennheiser CX300 - An excellent pair of in-canal earphones, which make travelling in Mumbai bearable. I can't live without these little things. Bought for 1490 from Croma.
- Grado SR80 - Ordered from Amazon, yet to get them (coming via a friend who's in the US). Heard too many things about this to resist. It was a plunge for USD 95. Not available in India, as far as I know
- Nokia E63 - A sexy little phone, really. Er, not so 'little'. Bought from Zoop in Charni Road (super place that). Exchanged my old E62 for 2600, and got this for 9900!
- Digitech RP90 - A processor for my guitar... This is amazing value for money at the USD 80 I picked it up for. Yet to arrive, with the Grados.
Might seem like a lot, but got most of them - all of them actually - at best prices. My first salary along with the PF money from my old job came and went on these things so I'm broke now :P
If anyone would like reviews or advice on any of the above, let me know... In any case, I'll blabber out here in a couple of days
Woohoo, gadgetmania!

Got myself a PSP 3000 last month, for 9420/- bucks. Right now, i have with me God of War, chains of Olympus and NFS carbon. Really addictive piece.
According to Sony, the screen resolution has been improved also reducing the response time and glare. The in-built speakers really suck, but the PSP is meant to be a personal entertainment piece, and so it is supposed to be used with a earphone. the sound output quality if used with a earphone is really mind blowing.
Sad part is, Sony doesn't bundle the product with any memory card. Without a memory card, you cant play any games, as memory card is needed to save the game data.
All in all, a thoroughly entertaining product. PSP has its own league of games and also a great fan following. somebody interested in gaming will definitly enjoy the PSP.

Got the Grado SR80s yesterday. My lord, they are quite simply the best headphones I've ever tried in my life.
The best part is how every instrument is emphasised on. The bass is just right, the vocals are perfect and in between, every instrument can be heard clearly. Fantastic. Worth each penny of the 95 dollars I paid for it.
And that too, with 128 kbps files! I can't wait to download some FLAC and try them out!!

Just did what I mentioned in the previous post. Downloaded some FLAC and tried out the Grados. Amazing... Simply amazing. The best tracks I've heard so far on these babies are Chekele by Mallu band Avial and Teargas by the Swedish metal outfit Katatonia.
Here's an exercise in sadism: First try the iPod stock earbuds, then try a pair of Grados. Then go back to the iPods earbuds.

First think about whether you really would need a Blackberry. Those things are very expensive and their true worth is felt only to business users.
My recommendation is the excellent E63. Cheap at 12500 bucks, its got an amazing QWERTY keypad.
Check out reviews from CNET and all. It's quite popular.

Hi
I need to get the following things. Suggestions please...
1. I have always wondered how will it feel like playing Counterstrike with a Bose headphone on. But my salary does not support a Bose. Can any1 suggest me a good gaming headphone ? I need one with maximum noise reduction. I need it for my Apple Macbook. My budget is Rs 3000. Please provide few options. I stay in Hyd, so if any of u guys know a place where i can get it, it would be great.
2. A nice USB Keyboard, mainly for games. My budget is Rs 1000.

1. Bose will not be worth it. It's way too expensive and I'd recommend it only if you have a lot of money or are a die-hard audiophile. Still, from what I hear on various review sites, high-end Sennheisers and Grados are better than Bose for a fraction of the cost. I assume you'd want a pair of the around-the year (supra-aural) headphones. My recommendation is the excellent HD201 which costs just 1200 odd bucks from any Croma. The HD202 costs a little more, but from the reviews I've read, HD201 is better. I've personally tried the 201s, and they sound amazing for the price. Excellent bass reproduction, and the lows and highs are right. You can check them out here : Sennheiser Worldwide - Stereo Headphones, wired - Private Audio. But make sure you read reviews on CNet, Head-Fi, etc.
Note: These are not noise-reduction headphones. They're just normal headphones. Sennheiser's noise-reduction headphones are a lot costlier. For a budget pair of noise-reduction headphones, check out Philips. Although I've never tried them. Just pop over to Croma and give them a look. I think they cost something like 3500 bucks.
2. Again, go to Croma. Or check this list out: www.computerwarehousepricelist.com. I believe there's a good electronics bazaar in Hyderabad, just can't remember where it was.
EDIT: Remembered the place, it's Chenoy Trade Center in Secundarabad.

Thanks a ton Chuck !
Before posting the questions, I was actually browsing thru the sennheiser website. The products were cool. Just one query though. Do u know where can i find a price list of sennheiser headphones in India ? I browsed a couple of sites but no luck.
Do we get a pair of Grados in India ? I mean, do we have retail outlets for Grados ?
CTC in Secunderabad is known for its computer peripherals. But any guess whether we can find headphones there ? I mean, i can get a decent keyboard there but m not sure of headphones.
