Sadly enough...Sukur hasnt been picked to Turkeys squad.......
But I still fancy them...and consider them to be the true underdogs of the tournament. They still have good players in the Altintop bros, Tuncay Sanli, Nihat and Emre.
I think that instead of naming 10 teams randomly, we should predict the two teams from each group that we feel will most likely move ahead.
My take:
Group A: Czech Republic • Turkey (No Portugal for me)
Group B: Croatia • Germany (Easiest Group to predict)
Group C: France • Netherlands (The Azzuri are not unbeatable)
Group D: Spain • Sweden (Greece will not do an encore)

well surely group C is a tight one and it'd be sad to see one of the good teams leave early after the group stages. the netherlands have always been a quality team but they generally dont gel together. still last time The Netherlands fared quite well and this time too they have gr8 players like Nistelrooy, Sneijder, Van Bommel, Van Persie, Van Der Vaart and Robben. Let's hope this time they are able to work as a team. i hope we see the attacking triangle of the Gallacticos: Sneijder, Nistelrooy and Robben score some awesome goals!!
well talking abt the french team i'll look fwd to Benzema more than Henry....Thierry is not in his best form but Benzema is like ....thundering. There is Nicolas Anelka And Govou too but still my bets on Benzema. in midfield there is lots of experience with players like Vierira, Makelele and awesome players like Diarra, Flamini, Ribery, Nasri. Defence looks a bit fragile to me with Thuram not at his best, Gallas making mistakes here and there, abidal couldnt perform well. the only plus point is that they have dynamic united LB Evra.
well the azzurris are back and could they create the same magic as they did in the world cup. well the defence looks solid with cannavaro, matterazi, pannuci and zambrotta. midfield will be showing some great football with the hard worker gattuso who will play a bit defensive. our set piece specialist gattuso as well as others like de rossi, aquilaini, ol' abrosini, perrotta....but still the forward line doesnt look so dynamic....del piero is not in his best, inzaghi and gillardino have been called but only look fwd to inzaghi as he scores awesome goals. well the best one of the lot is luca toni....lets hope for some good football from the azzurris!!!
but stil if 2 teams proceed after the group stage it will b a loss as all the three teams are good in C group. hope france n netherlands move up!!!

well wht this thread is all about?? which competition will i talk about???
yeah actually they are not included in the squad but they were called by Donadoni for the Euro 2008 qualifiers
Inzaghi was called for Italy vs France qualifier
Gillardino was called for Italy ns Faroe Islands qualifier
Gillardino is a gr888 player but guess the Serie A scandal ruined him....!!

Okay, so what if they were involved in the qualifiers? If this is the logic, we can very well start raving about the English players

WOW... portugal vs turkey on first day. That will be one hell of a battle. Turkey was unlucky not to qualify for euro 2004 after losing their final match to Latvia. They have some very good players in Nihat, Emre and Tuncay. I'll bet my money on them. I think they can become Greece of 2008.

hahahahahahaha...just loved it.... one problem though i think sukur is not in the team...
but even without him they are a good team...
there strike force Nihat, Sanli..defence is strong and as you have mentioned they are a tough team...
The reason you are calling them a junglee team is because of the way they play @ home.....some of the attitude from spectators rub off to players too....
romania: the two factors that are working for them is their team spirit...and ADRIAN MUTU.....i guess he may have a point or two to prove at international stage.....
@ KGV i just spelt the name incoorect....
i know suker retired long time back [/quote]
Davor Suker played for Croatia
Sukur (I think) was the highest scorer for turkey in Euro 08 qualifiers, so thought no need to check the turkey squad... I dont think its a right way... he must have been
More importantly moi not supporting any team, just good ol' beautiful football... JOGA BONITA... Bring it on... Babey
Ciao..
Kris
