Well..the first post on the thread called for looking beyond the normal icons- including the likes of Kumar Birla, Sunil Mittal and the like-But funnily enough we ve stuck on to our guns. If we really wish to look beyond these icons and beleive me i have nothing against these people- I d cite the examples of N.C Vij, The Chief of the Indian Army, the mumbai Dabawallas. Acheivers in the military, firefighters et al. These are people engaged in thankless professions and the media does precious little about them in any case.

Cheers

Do we need icons??

We have been a nation of hero worshippers rather than one of hardcore achievers. That has been the bane of our nation, Well its all right to draw inspiration from ppl's achievements but to put them on a pedestal and give them names like icons is just carrying it a bit too far.

Set your goals and go for it. IF there is someone who has done the very same thing; great see what made them tick and learn from their experiences....All these idol worshipping...Fan Clubs are all a waste of ppls time!

And for an aside...Anil Ambani Youth Icon...for what??? I wonder if it was for business practises ... U can admire the man for the personal discipline he has exhibited to take care of his health inspite of being in the position that he is!! The point is when u make someone an icon ur assuming he is infallible...Nobody is !!

Shit happens .... c'est la vie!

Not happy with the way things are in india??...come and voice ur opinion here

The only person who seems to be infallible and whom i hv made my icon just now(bcoz i hv thought abt it only now ) is
Osama Bin Laden.

Occupation : Terrorist
Job : Spearding terrorism and running safe from forces.

Execution : Perfect
Rating : 10/10

The sheer perfection with which he does his job makes him my idol.
The way he caused the multiple plane attacks on sept 11 is commendable.

If we put in the same effort for what we want in life, nobody can stop us from getting it.
