btw did u guys know that burmanda was actually sitting in a boat trying to compose a melody when he hit upon the tune of "chingari koi" for amar prem
Yeah...had heard that before Spiderman
There are lotsa such stories about R D and his compositions. Saw Main Hoon Naa recently, and cudnt help smiling as they played one hit RD song after another as the Motif all thru the movie. The choice of songs was good.
Guess its a nice funda...of paying tribute You get to use all the songs ...and dont even have to claim to be inspired

Jhankaar Beats is another example of RD-devoted movies... but it was a damn good movie, irrespective of RD-inclination...

Wud like 2 specifically quote a song frm tht one... Ghum hai kisike pyaar mein... in which hariharan-kavitha krishnamoorthy kinda try to lend their own touch... n it compares nowhere with the original... even the intensity of the original was absent... n of course, two talented voices were simply wasted...

Dil Padosi hai is one of the oldest non-filmi albums of the beautiful trio combi...asha+rd+gulzar. And the song 'Bheeni Bheeni Bhor' is my fav in that album. The album is as old as early 90s. I had sung one of these songs in a kalyanji bhai orchestra audition sometime in 93-94 i guess...and i got disqualified for singing songs which were composed by filmi ppl!... (kalyanji-anandjibhai, these guys in same indsutry wud never agree on how gr8 hte other composers r!)

I am what I am, what I am is wonderful

That is true Christy....RD was an excpetional mouth organ player. At his memorable best in "Hai apna dil to awara" ...i am not sure if SD Burman was the music director for that song, but its RD on the mouth organ allright

SD burman was the Music director.....but I guess SDs songs were more melodious than RDs....but both enjoy gr8 popularity with the remixers ...remember Saiyyan dil mein aana re was a SD song
