Yo dude, of course you can... it's jugadu stuff, but a normal sized hall in a flat is all you need. Neighbours around me don't complain, though I can't say that about others.

Hi Folks,
Its been about couple of months since I have been practising and enjoyed every bit of it! Initial exercise days were tough (and painful) but then feels much better now. So far practising the basic chords, and will gradually move ahead. Consistency and patience is always needed and will keep it going

I have a gbna jumbo guitar and broke the first string today!!!!
Time to celebrate, eh.. ;-)

cheers,
Abhishake

1 hr a day is more than suffient (rather much more than sufficient)
but what do u mean by basics dude...... there aint any limit of basics ....
i believe that 2 months are more than sufficient for learning beginers songs like Metallica Entersandman, Master of puppets Intro riff kind.

i cannot tell u exactly that where will u reach after two months as it depends from person to person and ur music sense but i think 2 months for a music lover/diehard fan is more than enough to get started and say " i can play guitar"

regards

Get in touch with the Unwind Center in Chennai. Google up their number - you should find it. Those people are very professional and the best bands in Chennai swear buy that place.

Hi puys

Thanks for starting this thread.

I bought an Acoustic Guitar 2 months back. Had also bought a DVD along with it on "Teach Yourself - Guitar".

The DVD provided me all info like parts of Guitar, holding a guitar/pick, chords, strumming, picking. It also included the various rhythms like reggae, blues, modern rock, bar chords, classic rock, rhythm using dead strums, jazz/hip hop rhythm.

The DVD has been really useful for me to understand the basics as well as to try out the various chords and rhythms. I would be going through the DVD a number of times and would me making note of the Fret position/String position/Which finger to use.

I am taking my time to learn this wonderful instrument. As my friend told me "Don't be in a hurry to learn guitar, take your time. You should enjoy learning and should not make an effort to learn."
