my take on this:
1.Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai.....Kati Patang
Hay yeh jo mohabbat hai yeh unka hai kaam
Arey mehboob ka jo bas lete huve naam
Mar jaaye mit jaaye ho jaaye badnaam
Rehne do chhodo bhi jaane do yaar, hum na karenge pyaar
2.Tujhse naraaz nahi jindgi...Masoom
jeene ke liye socha hi na tha, dard sambhalane honge
muskuraoon to, muskurane ke karz utaarne honge
muskuraoon kabhi to lagata hai
jaise hontonn pe karz rakhaa hai
tujhase ...
3.Kuch Na Kaho...1942 A Love Story
Khoyi sab pehchaane, khoye saare apne Samay ki chhalne se gir girke khoye saare sapne Aur is pal mein koi nahin hai Bas ek main hoon, bas ek tum ho Kuch na kaho, kuch bhi na kaho..

Biography of Rahul Dev Burman
Early life
Rahul Dev Burman was born in Calcutta.[1] According to stories, he was nicknamed Pancham because, as a child, whenever he cried, it sounded in the fifth note (Pa) of the Indian musical scale. The word Pancham means five (or fifth) in Bengali and Sanskrit. Another version is that when the veteran Indian actor Ashok Kumar saw a newborn Rahul Dev Burman uttering the syllable Pa repeatedly, he nicknamed the boy Pancham. After coming to Mumbai, he learnt sarod from Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.[2]. He received his early education at St. Xavier's School, Kolkata [3]
When he was nine years old, he composed his first song, Aye meri topi palat ke aa, which his father used in the film Funtoosh (1956). The tune of the song Sar jo tera chakraaye was composed by him as a child. His father loved the tune and included it in the soundtrack of Guru Dutt's Pyaasa. In 2004, the soundtrack for Pyaasa was chosen as one of "The Best Music in Film" by Sight & Sound, the British Film Institute magazine.[4]
As a child, Pancham also played the mouth organ [disambiguation needed] in the famous song Hai apna dil to aawara (from film Solva Saal - 1958, starring Dev Anand). Pancham began his music career as an assistant to his father.
Out of his 331 released movies 292 were in Hindi, 31 in Bangla, 3 in Telugu, 2 each in Tamil & Oriya and 1 in Marathi. RD also composed for 5 TV Serials in Hindi and Marathi. He also scored a large number of non-film songs in Bangla (also known as Pooja songs or modern songs), which are available in different albums.
R D Burman started his career as assistant to his father, Sachin Dev Burman. He assisted his father in Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi (195 and Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959), and his first music interlude, in his father composition, was for the song, Jaane Kya Tune Kahi, sung by Geeta Dutt, for film Pyaasa (1957)[5]. His first film as a music director was Guru Dutt's Raaz (1959). However the film was shelved after some shooting and recording of few songs.

- R.D. Burman made his acting debut in Mehmood's 'Bhoot Bangla'. Later in 'Pyar Ka Mausam' too he gave a hilarious performance as Mr. Popat Lal.
- Pancham introduced the twin track effect in 'Baharon Ke Sapne'. which he later used to create the mesmerizing 'qatra qatra miltee hai' (Ijaazat) and a few more songs.
- He also pioneered the use of electronic organ in Indian Films with the song 'O mere Sona re' (Teesri Manzil).
- RD was, as Gulzar says, as good a craftsman as he was a musician. He picked the sounds for his songs from very indigenous sources.
- In 'Chura liya' he used the sound of a spoon hitting a glass .
- For the Kitaab song 'Master jee kee aa gayee chiTThee' he brought some desks from a classroom in the studio while recording and used them as percussion.
- In Abdullah he used the sound of a bamboo whistle with a balloon tied to it for a song.
- Once to get the sound of raindrops, he spent a whole rainy night in his house's balcony recording the sound he wanted.
- In the song 'O Manjhi Re' from the movie 'Khushboo', R.D. Burman used bottles with water filled at different levels and created a hollow sound by blowing into them and this sound effect was used with the orchestra.
- During the recording of 'Hum donoN do premee' (Ajnabee) the musicians were on strike. So he improvised the song with emptied-out musical interludes and just listen the song!
- The mouth organ played in the song 'Hai Apna Dil To Awara' sung by Hemant Kumar in the film 'Solva Saal' is played by R.D. Burman himself.
- R.D. Burman played the mouth organ for his friends Laxmikant-Pyarelal in a song in 'Dosti' and also in a movie for Kalyanji-Anandji.
- Dada Burman used Pancham's tune 'ai meree topee palat ke aa' in 'Fantoosh'. Pancham was only 9 when he composed the tune.
- Again next year, for Pyaasa, SD used his son's 'Sar Jo Tera Chakraaye', which became a big hit.
- Both Lata and Bhupinder won a National award for the song 'Beeti Na Bitaayee Raina' from 'Parichay', and this song was composed in a hotel room in no time.
- Aarti Mukherjee won a National award for the song 'Do Naina Ek Kahaani' from 'Masoom'.
- Gulzar (best lyricist), Asha Bhosle (best female singer) won National awards for the song 'Mera Kuchh Samaan' from Ijaazat.
- RDB was the first to introduce the Brazilian bossa nova rhythm in Hindi film music - the song was "Maar dalega dard-e-jigar", sung by Asha, in "Pati Patni". That rhythm has since been endlessly used for film music.
- R.D. Burman won the Filmfare Award only 3 times (Sanam Teri Kasam, Masoom, 1942-A Love Story) while being nominated 16 times for the award.
- Amit Kumar, Abhijeet & Shabbir Kumar were given their first breaks by Pancham.
- Jatin of Jatin-Lalit used to be in Pancham's children's choir.
- Nasir Hussain, for the first time after Teesari Manzil, did not sign R.D. Burman, in 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'.

hey puys, lets move on to A.R. RAHMAN
Allah Rakha Rahman, born January 6, 1966 as A. S. Dileep Kumar in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India) is an Indian film composer, record producer, musician and singer. His film scoring career began in the early 1990s. He has won thirteen Filmfare Awards, four National Film Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe and two Academy Awards.
Working in India's various film industries, international cinema and theatre, by 2003, Rahman, in a career spanning over a decade, has sold more than 100 million records of his film scores and soundtracks worldwide, and sold over 200 million cassettes, making him one of the world's all-time top selling recording artists.
Time magazine has referred to him as the "Mozart of Madras" and several Tamil commentators have coined him the nickname Isai Puyal; English: Music Storm). In 2009, the magazine placed Rahman in the Time 100 list of 'World's Most Influential People'.
Early life and influences
A. R. Rahman was born in a musically affluent Tamil family. His father R. K. Shekhar, was a Chennai based composer and conductor for Malayalam films. Rahman lost his father at a young age and his family rented out musical equipment as a source of income. He was raised by his mother Kareema (Kashturi), who was from a Muslim family. During these formative years, Rahman served as a keyboard player and an arranger in bands such as "Roots", with childhood friend and percussionist Sivamani, John Anthony, Suresh Peters, JoJo and Raja. Rahman is the founder of the Chennai-based rock group, "Nemesis Avenue". He played the keyboard and piano, the synthesizer, the harmonium and the guitar. His curiosity in the synthesizer, in particular increased because, he says, it was the “ideal combination of music and technology". He began early training in music under Master Dhanraj. At the age of 11, he joined, as a keyboardist, the troupe of Ilaiyaraaja, one of many composers to whom musical instruments belonging to Rahman's father were rented. Rahman later played in the orchestra of M. S. Viswanathan and Ramesh Naidu, accompanied Zakir Hussain, Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan and L. Shankar on world tours and obtained a scholarship to the Trinity College of Music where he graduated with a degree in Western classical music.
Awards
Rahman was the 1995 recipient of the Mauritius National Award and the Malaysian Award for contributions to music. He was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for his first West-End production. A four-time National Film Award winner and conferred the Padma Shri from the Government of India, Rahman has also received six Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, thirteen Filmfare Awards and twelve Filmfare Awards South for his music and scores. In 2006, he received an honorary award from Stanford University for contributions to global music. In 2009, for his score of Slumdog Millionaire, Rahman won the Critics' Choice Award, the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music, and two Academy Awards for Best Original Music Score and Best Original Song at the 2009 Oscars. Middlesex University and Aligarh Muslim University have announced that they plan to bestow honorary doctorates on Rahman.

- Nine-year-old Dileep Kumar a.k.a A R Rahman slept late, played carrom and hated waking up at 7 a.m to practice at the piano!
- Asked to leave school due to lack of attendance, he quit studies at the age of 15.
- When Rahman’s sister fell seriously ill in 1988, Pir Qadri, who cured her, advised the family to convert to Islam and they did!
- Dileep had a choice of seven names during his conversion. He chose Allah Rakha Rahman.
- Call it a filmi coincidence, his name was Dileep Kumar before he converted to Islam and his wife’s name is Saira Bano!
- His nickname is Isai Puyal.
- Rahman is closest to his mother Kasturi who converted to Kareema Begum.
- A true believer, he offers namaaz five times a day.
- Is superstitious about starting work according to the prayer time in the place of worship close to his heart!
- The maestro loves eating rasam-rice. When busy, he eats lunch at 5 p.m and dinner after midnight!
- Rahman lives in a small two-storey bungalow in Kodambakkam.
- He has three kids Khatija (13), Rahima (10), and son Ameen (5).
- His mother spotted Saira at a dargah and sent a marriage proposal right away!
- Saira Banu is the sister-in-law of Tamil actor Rahman and the daughter of a Chennai-based businessman from Kutch.
- The musician's wife likes to “dress him up” for important occasions; he is mostly dressed in black.
- Rahman loves to shop for music records at the Virgin Records store in New York. Once he landed in NY at 2 a.m and dashed off to the store.
- In Chennai, Rahman takes his family and friends to a Thai joint located behind The Park Sheraton.
- Rahman's long-time associate drummer Shivamani once cooked fish curry for him in London while he was working on Bombay Dreams. Rahman loved it. He's a non-veg but has suddenly stopped eating prawns.
- His Man Friday Swamidurai, fondly called Swami, has been with him since the begining of his career.
- As a bachelor, he used to often use the abbreviation LFA, which stood for ‘Love Failures Association’!
- Rahman usually sees his children off to school before he sleeps after working nights!
- He does not let his wife or children inside the studio when he’s working.
- Khatija doesn’t like her dad signing autographs in school and has asked him not to come there.
- Rahman’s son shares his birthday with him.
- The old keyboard that he used to play as a teenager is still displayed in his studio.
- A master with instruments, he likes dismantling parts and assembling them.
- A good mimic, he loves to imitate lyricist Vairamuthu, who in turn mimics Rahman’s style of walking!
- Rahman usually works in the night but he’s made an exception for SP Balasubramaniam whose songs have all been recorded before 10 pm.
- He likes listening to songs based on the raaga Sindhu Bhairavi.
- When Subhash Ghai once told Rahman during the music of Taal that he would once win an Oscar, Rahman laughed and reply that Indians can’t.
- Jai Ho was initially composed for Yuvvraaj!

As for as Rahman is concerned, no doubt he is genius. Apart from his music he is also a very good human being. He is very creative, innovative with his music. One thing i would like to mention he has given new talents a chance in his films like Javed Ali, Shreenivas.
