Adani's price band would be Rs 400-450. And I heard dealers @ Gujarat have started quoting the BLACK(premium) prices of Rs 200. | | | | | | | |

without going into too much detail, i'll explain how the entire world gets to invest in the indian stock markets...
PNs allow people from all around the world to buy "risks" from our markets... in other words, they buy - say units of funds that invest in emerging markets - and they earn the reward for holding this risk in terms or dividend... now PNs are being restricted in India because while our economy and our stock market is providing fantastic returns, we want terrorists and gangsters to get none of the benefits... (bad elements invest too) - so SEBI is now asking what the underlying assets (who is investing and whether it is with legal money or not) are in order to make sure that only the law abiding have an opportunity invest.
this method of sharing the risk is very common and recently led to the massive sub-prime meltdown scare... this was because the "risks" involved in whether the loan taker would pay or not were split and sold as commodities in return for a reward if the home owner actually did pay...
