Nothing beats a MAC, evn if its a bit pricey | initially we thought we will get them from US which is a better option. but then we should wait till april-may. we cant wait that longer Quote:

It doesn't make sense to buy applecare in India. Search for a good deal on eBay
And yea, good decision all ye folks, on the switchover to Mac. Made that switch around 8 months ago and have no regrets since....
Cheers | thanks da.. will look for it on ebay Quote:

One of my friend in UK can bring it for me and it will cost me around 64K (after VAT rebate)
Only thing is he is coming back in March end.. and i would like to have it sooner..
A similar deal here (say upto 67K) and I am in..
btw when are you planing to place the order? nd is 52K the total amt payable or are any other costs to be added? | yeah 52k is the total amt payable. no extra charges.
so you are willing to pay 15k extra(67-52) for DVD RW, 80GB more hdd and 1 GB ram more. i dunno if you can get this, if you need the dealers number PM me and talk to him. but then you can buy all these separately and add it to your base model for much less than 15k. .i wrote how i am doing this for 4k more and you can add 1 gb ram which will cost a couple of thousand bucks but then your machine will be more powerful and costs less than 67k. bt its only the wait till march end that is making me think of this tempting offer.. so am undecided still...
jst a word of caution.. i told one dealer of this 52K all incl. offer..
he said it cannot be for "MB061LL/ B"..
do ensure that the model promised is "MB061LL/ B" and not "MB061LL/ A"..
"MB061LL/ A" is the older model with 667MHz Bus Speed RAM and Tiger OS..
details here: Newegg.com - Apple MacBook MB061LL/A Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00GHz 13.3" WXGA 1GB DDR2 667 80GB 5400rpm DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo Intel GMA 950 Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger - Retail

Even I've been using MBP for over a year now 2.2 GHZ, 160 GB, 2 GB RAM, DVD RW.
But this aint mine. Got it from my company as my client is Apple Inc.
Even I've been planning to buy MBP. It's one of the sexiest machines on this planet. There are so many intricately designed features that you will fall in love with it. But puys, I think MB isn't as good as the MBP. Of course you will have to shell a lot more to get a MBP but then it's worth the money.
The only caveat is it won't run many windows based applications. We do get DMGs (equiv to Windows EXEs) for most of the apps but still...
Though you can run Windows on a Mac machine by installing Boot Camp or VMWare but then again you need at least 2 GB RAM to run those applications seamlessly. So I would suggest the puys and the mods of this thread to go for a MBP deal. And if it's a good deal, even I'm game for it It's NOW or neva Calls :- CAT 2007 - BLACKI (99.85%ile), XLRI BM (99.36%ile), IIFT, MDI, NITIE, IMT G, NMIMS (AIR-18, Score-127.5) Skipped :- NITIE, IIM S Converted :- IIM C,L,I,K, XLRI, MDI, IMT G, NMIMS | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to vaibhav29oct For This Useful Post: | | | | | |

Cheers,
Deepu. | Damn... So wanted to get a Mac!!!!
Am in need to upgrade my laptop - but then, with only a quarter remaining for my MBA to end, not now... Later, but then will do it with my own money... which is somewhere near July - Aug end.
Any chance of late entrants to the deal? I mean, will the deal be valid till that time? It happens here, where my IT team gets a deal to last for two - three months. Of course, we buy close to 100 - 150 laptops then...
Regards,
