[2008]F1 Season -
16-01-2008, 11:31 PM
Puys,
As most of the eminenent teams have launched there 2008 cars, and with testing commencing at Jerez, lets start the predictions, discussions for the 2008 season, especially with use of traction controls being abolished, and slick tyres may make a come back in 2009/10.What about force India or karthekin or chandok entering F1.
So, lets start with predictions, rivals and constructors.
So, let the 5 lights go out.

Re: [2008]F1 Season -

as F1 season starts again Force India is the team we wud be looking to .With
mallya pumping in a lot of funds and two gud drivers in Fischella and Sutil , I feel They will do well.As for winners Hamilton will surely win.He was undone by politics due to alonso last time but this time surely wid mclaren fully behind him ,He will win.But watch out for Massa , he is the dark horse .As far as narain and karun ar concerned , it will tk sm time for them to really make a mark , but Karun chandok has a realistic chance of getting into F1 wid age on his side may be 2 yrs down the line .Wud be gud for india .An Indian car ,Indian driver and a track / race in India .Wud be way to go.
May the best driver win

End of an historic thread which even got stripped of its deserved Sticky status .An entire generation of posts may get lost into oblivion now.
Anyway,am neither a big F1 fan nor a big FA fan,but something tells me FA will win this season.
@rmbt ->For the sake of posterity, astleast put the link to the original F1 thread in the 1st post of this thread.

Re: [2008]F1 Season -

Hi F1 Puys,
Now that the season 2008 has started, on seeing the thread, I had an idea now sitting ideally in office to play a game in the lines of the ESPN super selectors here in PG. Don’t know if anything similar had been conducted here before…Think it will be pretty interesting and engaging…;-)
The game would go like this …
Before every race day, each of us will predict the top three podium finishers along with their exact standings and the race’s constructors champion at the end of the race. For every prediction in a race, the points that the participants will get are as follows.
Note:
APP - Podium Points actually got by the driver in the race.
APD - actual position of the driver in the race (for Non-Podium Finishes)
APC - Podium Points actually got by the team in the race.- Correct prediction of Winner - 10 points
- Correct prediction of Runner - 8 points
- Correct prediction of Third - 6 points
- Correct driver but incorrect position in podium - (APP / 2)
- Driver not finishing in the podium - (-APD)
- Driver not finishing the race/disqualified - (Will be treated as one position below the total number finishers.)
- Correct prediction of Constructors Team – APC
- Incorrect prediction of Constructors Team – (-APC / 2)
The above points conditions have been framed by myself after some thought and any suggestions to refine them is welcome and will be updated here..- The above condition of points applies to each driver that we predict.
- Not necessary to compulsorily predict for a given race.
- Maximum of one prediction per podium position in a race is allowed.
- A total of 3 drivers can be chosen for each race.
- The final race results can be put up in a single post by one of us.
- The points collected by each of the participants can be tabulated and updated after each race in a single sticky post at the top and we can hav our own PG Podium finishers after the final Brazil race.;-)
- The predictions of the drivers and positions by the participants also can be tabulated in a single sticky post at the top.
- All predictions are to be made before the race's qualifying!
Waitin for responses and all suggestions/comments/ ideas/ clarifications are welcome.
Hope it is fun till the final Brazil race chequered Flag. Let the race begin..
Cheers

We had created out own Pagal league and played here a couple of years ago:
Fantasy-F1.Net - possibly the best fantasy F1 game on the net
Also espn has its own similar game. Probably we could participate in that. Lets wait till the first week of March and then let the games begin
Force India Lets hope it can garner a few points this season

Hello Puys,
Gr8 to see a new thread and poll in action
Mclaren have signed a 5 year deal with Hamilton.
Hamilton Signs Five-Year McLaren Deal
Hope they don't repent this......the fellow could struggle without traction control as indicated by the testing at Jerez!
Cheers!
