Surely these despondent times won't allow for such largesse. Unless FIA works with the teams and brings the costs radically down the most glamorous sport on earth might just collapse which would be very sad. :(
yes F1 is not a sport in real terms.its just a platform for the auto companies to showcase the strength of their products, make name and its a huge advertisement opportunity for them
with auto sales dwindling around the world, with weird cost cutting schemes doing round in the companies, the fate of the coming seasons looks lack lustre.

tough times ahead.

i believe Mr. Mallya will not let the Force India team collapse, he is the India Inc most flamboyant entity and its a matter of pride for him...i think force india will be sheilded by him come whatever it may be.

Its definitely not foolishness, Just because Airlines industry is reeling, doesn't mean Mallya is getting broke.. It might be a decent business decision to acquire Honda as either ways Spyker,Jordan technology isnt helping so much with the track position and Mallya doesn't seem to be content being amongst the backbenchers.. So if he has the will and capital then, why not ?

Wouldn't it be awkward with two teams having the same owner? If some clauses prohibit such an evantuality, the bigger question is how'd VM offload ForceIndia in the prevailing conditions? This might be one of the reasons why VM may not be too bullish on Honda even if they are one of the better teams in the circuit.
