Re: [2008]F1 Season - 20-06-2008, 03:59 PM

French Gp weekend is here and drivers are upset about hike in the F1 license fee. Now getting onto the FRI prac 1:

1. Massa
2. Hamilton
3. Kovalinen
4. Kimi
5. Kubica

Massa was 0.6 sec quicker than the remaning 2-4 position drivers, who were covered by .07 sec suggesting that Massa was on lighter fuel loads. Anyways, its a routine that Ferrari are quicker in Prac 1 and then Mclaren take over in Prac 2.

My predicitons for tomorrow is:

1. Massa
2. Hamilton
3. Kimi

Kimi clinches Pole at Magny-cours..... making it the 200th pole for Ferrari.

Massa dominated the first 2 sessions, but kimi edged him in the pole decider.Lewis is 3rd,bt will start 13th...alonso(?!) is 4th...trulli 5th, heikki 6th...canadian gp winner Kubica is a disappointing 7th..

Wud be intresting to see if Kimi can repeat his last year's performance...

Go KIMI Go .....

A Ferrari one, two. what more can the fans ask for
Robert Kubcia too did well to finish in 4th place, which takes him onto 2nd on the overall driver standings. he is certainly having a great year

Yipeee....Finally a ferrari 1-2 @ they were class apart from the rest of field.

Sad that kimi couldnt win the race but he knows how to nurse this car and managed to finish a well deserved 2nd. Massa was lucky to win it and now leads the driver championship for the first time in this career. Kudos to him and hopefully this will make him reach another level in driving.

Mclaren: Hamilton doesnt score and is all fired up for his home race. Ferrari has to watch out for him. Heiki did well to bring some points home.

BMW: After all the hype BMW and kubica struggled. Polish driver managed 4 points but still was the best bet when compared to Heidfeld.

My pick of the day was Trulli. He defended his place especially in last 2 lap.:2gunfire: and didnt repeat the error of 2002 to barrichello.

Looking forward to British GP.

Massa has been winning races quite often these days... but there is still not the liking for him among the fans of the game .... People still like Kimi when its Ferrari and Louis when its Mclaren... should be the media which has been ignoring him or just the fans who don like him... Either way its not good for him...

Yes, there are few reasons for it:

1. He hasnt won many races from 2nd grid or from the back.

2. Have not seen him overtaking the likes of hamilton, heiki or BMWs.

3. He gets rattled when he is overtaken by a better driver.

But having said all of the above points, he has proven that he can be a contendor for WC as he has been very consistent.

He is learning very quickly and isnt ready to accept No 2 status within the team and he is a great team man and has the backing or Jean Todt and Schumi

To add on to point 3.... Malaysia 2008 wen he spun out and another race in 07 wen chased by lewis he ran into the gravel allowing lewis to overtake are 2 incidents tat comes to mind... .

Also Massa has been driving since 2002 and til he came to Ferarri, he never gave one of those breath-taking performance tat Kimi in Sauber('01) and this year( '08 ) Alonso in a Renault is putting up..(xcept possibly '04-spa francorchamps wen massa finished 4th wen half of the field retired..remember the race very well cus that was Kimi's only victory of '04)

Massa is surely coming on strong this year and showing that he is gud enuf to grab the no.1 spot from Kimi.

Massa is definitely pushing kimi. Having said this, last year, same time massa was ahead than kimi till IMOLA, where he had a DNF and then kimi took over and never looked back. Massa has to still prove alot and more importantly win this WC as he has the car, teams backing and if kimi wins this one again then he will be more or less NO 2
