Re: [2008]F1 Season - 23-03-2008, 04:09 PM

The Bangalore rains ensured that the Cable was down, which in turn ensured that
I couldn't see the race today..

Seems that it was indeed a good race which is anyways expected, with the new rules and no traction..

Cheers for Ferrari, but McLaren shud still be ahead in Constructor's

Any idea when is the replay/highlight session?

Do Kimi fans think he was Champ in 2007 coz he was the best?? I think Kimi was Champ purely by default, not by pure ability. The FIA could not have drivers from a team guilty of using illegal techniques to win the title- it wud have set a bad example for the toddlers who start following F1, right? Tht wud have encouraged cheating in F1...

I must say that ALO and HAM were asked to forfeit their last 2 races and hand kimi the championship. HAM did some 'uncharacteristic' errors - too uncharacteristic for me and ALO had to restrict himself in a manner that was too 'dramatic' for any sensible motrosport fan to see through all the dramas going on. And who was the 3rd best-- albeit a distant third -- driver who could be given the crown .... without doubt someone from the FIA bootlicker team from Italy -Kimi ....

And the difference in class was all too evident in Australia, wasnt it? ALO came 4th in a car tht belonged to the 1900s , HAM won convincingly and Kimi , the pre race favourite crashed ... and whoa! what a thud it was back to reality..

There will still be some ppl over here who will say tht 'luck' favored Kimi in 2k7-- but sorry folks ,I have to maintain what I said some 2 yrs ago -- Kimi was and will always be a waste of a driver -- accept the fact n move on ...or keep wearing those red goggles on where the whole world appears red and anything ferrari does appears gr8 ...

PS: NOMs to any poster on the forum and all tht jazz...
Hi Welcome to the F1 Thread once again Sid..and must say you are back with a bang...and you are right on spot with that comment that Kimi was, is and will always be a waste of a driver. Let us see why :

Let's rewind back to 2001 when Kimi came into F1 circuit...with just 23 races to his credit in his entire racing career Just 23 anyou d out of that he won 13 with a winning ratio of JUST 56%..What a waste driver rite..he could not even win all 23 races in lower rungs of racing..what a waste..

In his First Race at Australia Kimi won 6th place with the newly launched Sauber petronas Team..only 6th that too in a first race thats pathetic..see lewis who won a podium in 2007 Australian Grand Prix ( So what if you cannot compare Mclaren with Sauber still Kimi as a driver was pathetic only a 6th )

Lets zoom to 2003 when he lost the championship to Michael by 2 points...Such a waste...I mean even though Kimi came numerous times from behind the grid (because of the reliability issues with Mclaren) and evn though after all this he still managed to reach podiums still this is utter waste man...i mean you still cant beat Michael..you loose by 2 points after all the bad luck on your side..shame on kimi

Now came 2005 when we saw the rise of another "GREAT" driver, world Champion stuff u see.. Fernando So how can Kimi even think about beating this "GREAT" driver..After all kimi is such a waste rite? So the season starts and we see Raiko kick Fernando's a@# race after race...despite all the bad luck despite all the reliability issues..he did all this:
1.At the French Grand Prix Räikkönen suffered a ten-place grid-penalty following the replacement of his new specification Mercedes Benz engine which failed in Friday practice. Räikkönen, putting in what Ron Dennis called his best ever qualifying lap,[7] qualified 3rd (demoted to 13th) with a significant fuel load. He finished 2nd behind Fernando Alonso.

2.A week later at the British Grand Prix Räikkönen suffered another Mercedes engine failure due to an oil leak; his 2nd place qualifying place became 12th. He claimed 3rd place in the race.

3.Räikkönen won the Hungarian Grand Prix from the most handicapped qualifying position, having had to do his qualifying run first on the notoriously dusty and dirty track due to his early retirement a week earlier at Hockenheim.

4.Italian Grand Prix-During the race, Räikkönen was forced to take an extra stop when his left-rear tyre delaminated, which dropped him down to 12th. He recovered, but spun his car after pushing too hard chasing the 3rd placed driver. He eventually finished fourth. It would emerge that he had 5 laps of fuel more than teammate Montoya and 6 more than Alonso during qualifying - and still managed to outpace them

5.In the penultimate race of the year, at the Suzuka circuit in Japan, Räikkönen took his 7th victory of the season after starting 17th on the grid (as rain, and an engine failure for Räikkönen, had mixed up the qualifying grid.

But still he couldnt win..How could he after all he is just a waste rite...I mean he beat the hell out of world champion despite all the issues with Mclaren but still he is just a waste driver rite..so what if received the F1 Racing "Driver of the Year" accolade,[10] and the Autosport "International Racing Driver of the Year" award still the guy is a WASTE DRIVER.

Now zoome to the 2007 arena when we have Lewis hamilton the rookie, who breaks all records, shatters all myths and becomes the title contender with each passing race ( so what if Mclaren was the best Car in 2007, hamilton still rulez!!!). And where is our Poor Kimi..oh he is still a waste man, still not able to finish races..what is the problem with this guy wherever he goes brings BAD LUCK..even Ferrari are having reliability issues..Ufff what a waste man i tell you..but still after all the Hoopla and Hype behind lewis, poor Lewis cant keep his cool and breaks down in last 2 races and not even our "GREAT" driver can finsh things up..and who comes out as WINNER our poor waste KIMI..R u kidding me there must be a hidden plot..FIA fixes all this otherwise how can a driver like KIMI win the championship so what if he fought all his bad luck throughout the season, so what if he won MORE RACES than both hamilton and alonso,so what after all these years of hard work finally pays off..Cmon he is still a WASTE..rite

Now comes 2008, first race, still kimi cant get off the bad luck..i tell you he is such a waste..he qualifies 16th..Shame He comes back from the grid right upto 3rd position( so what anybody can do that..or maybe he had done it so many times in his entire career that he doesnt feel any pressure..wait thats unfair he has additional advanatge, the guy knows how to come back from the grid and land up on podiums..thats so unfair..oh god why cant anyone else do that..we always though kimi was SQUEAMISH) So what happens Kimi gets only 1 point yeah rite after all the fight he did, all the drivers he lapped, still he just gets last place. Cmon you know rite no surprises he is just a WASTE..and whoa! what a thud it was back to reality..

Next up the Malaysian Grand Prix...KIMI takes a morning walk in the Sepang park..others are fighting for positions..poor Hamilton can only come 5th after qualifying 9th(penalty) and that too without overtaking anyone after the start Our prodigy lewis could not even overtake Mark Webber for 20-25 laps...he needed Pit Stop to get past him..But what the hell how could kimi win...thats unfair oh yeah he had a better CAR..it waasnt him after all that he tore apart all the so called competitors and opened a lead of more than 20 sec on 2nd place and over 40 sec on 3rd place..cmon guys u know rite it was FERRARI who did the trick..KIMI after all is still a WASTE rite?

So after all these years with 50 podium finishes in 123 starts..after holding the joint record of 7 wins in a single season without winning the World Title (2005), after equalling Michael Schumacher's record of 10 fastest race laps in a season, set in 2004,after holding the fifth highest record for total fastest laps at 25 (jointly with Mika Häkkinen), he is still a WASTE poor oh kimi. So what if he is the highest paid driver on formula 1 circuit rite now, surely Ferrari are foools to give such a huge amount to a total WASTE.

So you see Sid, you were so right... and you proved that Kimi was, is a d will be a waste..even without putting across any solid FACTS..you just put across pure rubbish rumors to state such a VALID point..but dont you worry i know you mite not be getting time to collect and give a thought to all these FACTS as you must be busy in IIM-C..still you see I have verified and proved with SUBSTANTIAL FACTS what a "WASTE" kimi was, isand will always be. Oh and yes I dunno if we agree upon calling KIMI a waste after all this..what SUITABLE ADJECTIVES we can have for other drivers the so called bunch of competitors for our poor kimi..Maybe you can help us after all you are in IIM-C and ofcoourse you can reach on Conclusions much faster than us and that too without FACTS...And one more advice why dont you call up Kimi or maybe arrange a meeting you know so that atleast you can give him some tips on F1 DRIVING..i know you are busy and dont have time but still try to hand some GYAN to the poor guy..otherwise for whole of his life he will still be categorised as WASTE..no matter what he does, wins championships after championships...kicks a@# of all the other drivers day in and day out...comes from behind them and leaves them in a DAZE..still he would be categorised as a TOTAL WASTE..rite SID

I rest my argument with that..if you got some facts lined up to support your argument bring them on..or else just stay tight and watch KIMI kick others a@# AGAIN AND AGAIN..DAY IN AND DAY OUT..and u know what keep those superficial judgements of yours to yourself or else try to prove them with facts if at all you got any and dont cry like a baby, try to be a MAN and prove yourself. We expect you to have much more dignity and take up much more responsibilty after studying in one of the best MBA colleges in India.. such open ended statements are taking you nowhere buddy.

Any pubs in Delhi or Noida which host F1 races ??

I have been watching F1 @Noida-Chicane, but today morning they ditched me saying the pub will open at 12:30 and no race will be hosted today...ended up watching the race on a 25inch TV...no beer no fish ... good that the race added all the required spice

Re: [2008]F1 Season - 23-03-2008, 04:40 PM

excellent race for kimi...winning this one hands down...

i mean to leave a yawning gap of over 20 sec between the first and the second place speaks volumes about the character of the man who is being belittled by others...

those who doubt the 2007 drivers title cant celebrate the beauty of the last race with 3 drivers among the race for world title...
even though mclaren got entangled in the spygate scandal and lost all the constructor's points but i cant stop wondering why in such a scenario wud they want their best team(hamilton+alonso )to forfeit the championship to their fiercest rival after being strong throughout the season....

it was purely on the acumen and driving skills of one man who has always been underrated, when he came second to schumi and even when he came second to alonso in 2006...now that his time has come ,ppl are making excuses for his victory..
i hope guys out here show more respect for whoever wins irrespective of the team they belong to!!

i hope this time too we get to see a repeat of the previous season with both the championships going down to the wire!!
and may the best man win..

Re: [2008]F1 Season - 23-03-2008, 06:41 PM

In today's race kimi was hardly shown on TV and the commentators didn't talk much about him at all - the truest indicator of utter dominance! Boy was it a lonely race for him... unfortunately for the others if you put a driver of his quality into the best car in the field this is whats going to happen time and again this season. Really, Mclaren and the rest have to put in something special to provide any sort of competition in Bahrain...which incidentally is the track that was tested on by only one team over the winters - Ferrari! So things looking good before the European leg begins.

BMW were surprisingly closer to Ferrari than even Mclaren...the Aus GP had indicated already that this year its going to be a 3 horse race and this confirms it. Add to that the increasingly impressive Kubica (who was driver of the day for me) and I think its only a matter of time before they win a few this year. Alonso too was impressive...never used to like the way he whinged about everything the past few years but this years seen a definite improvement - he's gone the kimi way, is not talking much and is quietly doing the business in what really is a crap car compared to the front runners, so good on him! But for the moment nothing to counter kimi and ferrari...the only problem for them is Massa's 0 points in 2 races..ulike BMW and Mclaren where the two drivers are supporting each other...even so, bring on bahrain!

it was meant to potray that Kimi did not do justice to the talent he possesses...maybe it rubbed you off the wrong way..He has been driving the wrong car maybe since 2002, we will ne'er know but i stick by my suppositions...and i respect Kimi as an excellent driver but sit him in a Renault and we will see...

cheers,
TGS
Thanks Greenscar...for all the facts..the reason for my outrage on you and sid was purely on tha fact that u both reached certain Conclusions without even stating the FACTS which led u to reach there..now since you have told me why u felt Kimi is SQUEAMISH..i totally respect your view..You are right KIMI didnt do justice for the talent he posseses but in 2003 and 2005 luck ruined the chances for him otherwise he did deserve to win both times as well...i dunno if u saw Kimi in 2005 but if u did i am sure any guy regardless of whether he is kimi fan or not, that person will defend him..that person will say regardless of any hesitation that Kimi deserved it more than anything in 2005..Mind you i was a Michael fan at that time and my heart cried for Kimi coz the way that guy fought for whole season with all reliabilty issues and bad luck..and still he managed to win 7 races and come back from behind to land up on podiums...So my argument is not just for KIMI..I will always support the Right candidate provided you provide some hard concrete facts on which u base your conclusions...

And yeah for the point about making him sit in Renault..well i have always been in favor of equal cars for all drivers..coz most of the times it is the CAR which does the Trick not the driver...it would be perfect if everyone has same Cars..but if we cant have that scenario possible lets not get into this...even if God himself comes and sits in a FORCE INDIA still we will doubt if he will WIN...

But Thanks for expalining ur viewpoint..And i look forward to a healthy and good discussion in future.
