Kimi: I wouldn't say winning has changed my life, but it is good to get what I have always dreamed of. If there is focus on Lewis Hamilton getting prizes, Michael Schumacher testing with us, or where Fernando Alonso is going, I'm happy. I have a nice quiet life. I've got the trophy they probably all wanted. I'd rather take the world title than any other prize.

I have so far refrained frm posting here .... but the quote made me post again!!

Do Kimi fans think he was Champ in 2007 coz he was the best?? I think Kimi was Champ purely by default, not by pure ability. The FIA could not have drivers from a team guilty of using illegal techniques to win the title- it wud have set a bad example for the toddlers who start following F1, right? Tht wud have encouraged cheating in F1...

I must say that ALO and HAM were asked to forfeit their last 2 races and hand kimi the championship. HAM did some 'uncharacteristic' errors - too uncharacteristic for me and ALO had to restrict himself in a manner that was too 'dramatic' for any sensible motrosport fan to see through all the dramas going on. And who was the 3rd best-- albeit a distant third -- driver who could be given the crown .... without doubt someone from the FIA bootlicker team from Italy -Kimi ....

And the difference in class was all too evident in Australia, wasnt it? ALO came 4th in a car tht belonged to the 1900s , HAM won convincingly and Kimi , the pre race favourite crashed ... and whoa! what a thud it was back to reality..

There will still be some ppl over here who will say tht 'luck' favored Kimi in 2k7-- but sorry folks ,I have to maintain what I said some 2 yrs ago -- Kimi was and will always be a waste of a driver -- accept the fact n move on ...or keep wearing those red goggles on where the whole world appears red and anything ferrari does appears gr8 ...

Ya..its a Ferrari front row with Massa going almost half a second quicker than Kimi. I think Massa is definitly lighter than kimi for sure.

Tmrw's race should be interesting as showers are would hit the race for sure.

My predictions(assuming it rains):

1. Kimi
2.FA
3. Heidfield

Else

1. Kimi
2. Massa
3. Hamilton

PS : I too lob Ferrari
i can think of multiple reasons why ppl lov Ferrari and not McLaren. Be advised, the views expressed here are strictly personal.

1> Ferrari is niche...Its a brand for car enthusiasts the world over.Ferrari is more famous in SEAsia and Americas due to aggressive marketing in the 1970s-80s by Enzo Ferrari.

2> most of these sports-car enthusiasts are also the same public who follow motor-sports keenly, hence Ferrari loyalty.

3> Both McLaren and Mercedez are not your coffee-shop kinda sports car maker. Mercedez makes classy cars. Mercedez is more into segmented kinda car market(basically meaning making different type of cars catering to all segments...dont even think Nano kinda stuff:sarcasm whereas Mclaren is more like a racing team and car equipment manufacturer. So the race enthusiasts donot identify with the serious workman like attitude shown by Vodafone McLaren Mercedez towards formula-1 racing. They identify more with the suave and spice of the RED Ferrari...

4> People thinking Brits are big snobs :eh:...

5> Lewis Hamilton being black...some racial abuse kinda thing happened in BArcelona.

6> Lewis Hamilton vs Fernando Alonso: loss of Spanish McLaren loyalty and a lot of pretty damsel's too

7> Max mosely hating Ron Dennis and starting an almost vitriolic campaign against the later.

8> McLaren spygate scandal have hit their popularity biiiig time. people doubting the going-ons behind the paddock.

Will put some more if i can think of them..

cheers,
TGS

will be interesting to witness the first race under the rain(if it does rain)...must remember that without traction control, negotiating corners in a slipperrry wet track is a tricky proposition. We will see who the best driver is. Last summer we saw a marvellous race in the rains at SPa, Belgium...Lets hope we get such thrilling action here too...

cheers,
TGS
PS: was it SPA where it rained and we had a Fernando X Hamilton 1st corner overlap? Puys please let me know if i got this one wrong..
