Nostalgia and wishful thinking - 12-01-2008, 01:19 PM

Hi guys, finally all the exams are past or most of the major ones anyways

This is a time when the lucky ones to get calls celebrate and the not so lucky ones like me, which is the majority of the sample, engage in retrospection and the only ifs and self-blaming games

Then starts the wishful thinking, I think i may have a chance to clear the cut-offs, i may get a respectable percentile/score...
But at the end of the day gus, whats done is done and we have got to move on. I know its easier said than done but what other choice do we have

I am starting this thread for the unlucky ones among us to share their experiences and frustrations. Rest assured friends, you will always find a emphatetic ear over here cause we are all standing on the same beach, watching the sun set over another year and the waves moving away from us only to return the next year....

I will start with me, i worked very hard for CAT literally burning the midnight oil ( we have load shedding for 6 hours ) and only managed a shameful 85.55 perctl in CAT, and an even paltry 51.75 in SNAP, waiting for XAT results where i have managed only 49 attempts and an average go at the essay.

What about the rest of you?

"Lucky ones" are through, but i believe one bad day in an exam can't decide your fate.
If you have it in you, you can be much ahead of the "lucky ones" at some point of time. Every year many amongst us prepare, and prepare hard but what matters in this world is result, no one will ever see what you did, how you toiled.

Never feel bogged down by yourself!
Never doubt your abilities!

Keep doing great things for yourself and others as well, it is not that CAT as an exam is the sole criteria of excellence or as if your life is only dependent on the outcome of this exam.
You will decide the way where your life will take you to!

cheer up dude!!

Ah!

That time of the year again, when some make history and others (like me) repeat history

I did prepare for this eventuality though

I'd just add two posts below that pretty much sum up what I've come to think about this 'exercise' of failing in CAT.

Besties mate. Life goes on, CAT or NO CAT.

Now, when we fought, you had that eye of the tiger, man; the edge! And now you gotta get it back, and the way to get it back is to go back to the beginning. You know what I mean?See that look in their eyes, Rock? You gotta get that look back, Rock. Eye of the tiger, man.
