well, my two paisa worth:
i think both parties had some points with which they will beat the bush.
i think that horoscope describes SOME(only some,not complete) part of u.
i think and had noticed in too many ppl certain characteristics of a certain grp to disbelieve horoscope completely.
i think nobody can negate astrology as completely false.those who do, hadn't tried it .
i think many astrologers r just quacks and know little about astrology.
i think most astrologers had very very weak maths which effect their work.

buddy, what parameters will u keep while evaluating it. r these the common western basics fr something to qualify as science(which i think can't explain many things and just put them as assumptions or impossibles). nope pal, u can't explain it so easily.

Personally I consider Sun signs to be a load of bilge. You read these books by whomsoever and they are so damn general that everything fits you, plus u read with rose-tinted glasses and see yourselves with the same so the thing seems to fit even better.

As for compatibility come on, are you telling me that any Libra-Capricorn match or any other "recommended" match will work? BS!!! No way!!! Every person is unique and matches can NEVER be made like this. Face it, can you say, "I'm a Cancerian. Will I clear CAT?" Do you think the answer can EVER be given? Or something like "I'm a Cancerian and my Sun sign book by some neurotic female called XYZ says that I should ONLy meet females of some particular Sunsign, so though I know that ABC is my soulmate, I can't be with her, coz she's an Aquarian and that neurotic author says we can never be happy together!"

Like, I was laid up in bed with a torn ligament in my right knee and my horoscope by that female mentioned that I would have an "Activity-filled" week during which I would enjoy "great health"!!!!

Sunsigns are difinitely fun. At the same time, I totally agree with what Gautam has to say.

When there are N attributes, each takes some M values, technically, there are M*N kinds of people.

If M*N = 12, (M,N) belongs to { (1,12), (2,6), (3,4), (4,3), (6,2), (12,1) }

When people(astrologers) tell about some n ( <= N; >= 4 (say) ) attributes,
1. we "hear" only the attributes we think apply to us.
2. we search for such incidents from our memory which would prove that a particular attribute applies to us. There are 100s of incidents that happen, we can always find one justifying each value an attribute can take.

So, subconsciously we make an effort to make the compatmentalization right.

At the same time, I'ld like to share an incident. There are these astrologers - natives of TN who practice "Naadi Jyotshyam". They saw the thumb print of my dad and told him his dad's name, mum's name, etc - I've seen this happen
