you are right. Howard Roark is supposed to be based on Frank Lloyd Wright. and ayn rand has not catagorically denied this. she has refused to answer this question. since she is a writer of the romantic movement, she refuses to answer these sort of qs.
for those of u who have read 'we the living', she says that 'this is the closest that i will com to writing an autobiography'. this is just an example of the way ayn rand thinks. she says that she writes about people as they should be, ought to be, so comparisons take the focus off the actual book, off the people in the book.

anyway, myself an admirer of ayn rand. love atlas shrugged, we the living, fountainhead.
fav is the fountainhead because it is the first book by her that i have read.

for die hard ayn rand fans, get hold of her play, 'night of january (something)'. its fantastic.

p.s. :- the (something) stands for a date. cant remember it right now. think it is the 14th.

hi guys
i am a die hard Ayn Rand fan................but what seriuosly saddens me is that she is known more for her fictional work which isnt even a speck on her not fiction...........if u read her essays............they r beyond brilliance. for economics students or ppl intt in business adn economics...........her definiotn of money is unsurpassable.
seriously guys u should read her essays adn see her documentaries to really appreciate rand.
and out of her three books i thikn we the living was by far the best..............followed by Fountainhead.

Ayn Rand's works are great reads but are they practical......i feel they arent......she creates this whole image of a person who lives by his principles and all that....but can we relate to them in our own lives....we all live by some basic principles all right...but i think a smart person is one who has the ability to adapt himself to the changing world

ayn rand aptly murdered her self!

some times you wonder why do masses fall for some body trying to audaciously and very foolishly indeed border on the unseemly !!!
i know i am gonna see an array of you-can-go-to-hell posts,, still,,, think about the pragmatic aspect of such novels!

Was trying to be a bit sarcastic. Never meant to trivialise threads If that looked so, I apologise
