Why i am proud to be an INDIAN - 28-10-2007, 06:48 PM

Come on Puys. Join me. And lets show why we INDIANS are the right people on earth.

Worlds first plastic surgery and open heart surgery were conducted by our great Indian doctors Susruta and Charaka.

We are the people who measured the sky even before people wondered what it is. And what not?

Now i want your views.

I am thankful to India for moulding me into what I am today

For the madness of taking Science Stream in 12th
For Prof P. C. Thomas (the torture that a mallu stud goes thru after 10th)
For the wonderful college daz and prof log which made me realise that IT is not my cup of tea
The mad race called CAT
Then for the innumerable friends at Pagalguy

Last but not least in no other country you will find people who have experienced the soul of Nature.
In no other country you will find people who consider body as temple.
In no other country you will find people who consider parents as their first gods.
In no other country you will find people giving respect befits a mother n a sis to a lady. (Ya I know the atros that happen to women folks now- a daz)
Karan Johar movies, colourful festivals, awesome sherwanis, minblowing lehngas, fingerlicking cuisines , the list seems endless.

Last but not the least the only country where you see a person while meeting his buddy wud say "abbe yaar kaa haal hoing? " even if the person is the First Person of the country.

India Rox

Re: Why i am proud to be an INDIAN - 29-10-2007, 01:46 PM

Useless discussion guys.............
I think we first discuss..........what we have done for this great country ......rather than discussing what indians or india has done on and for this EARTH!!!
We should first discuss how much respect do we give to a lady walking on a street!!!
How many times we have left the seat in a bus or metro for a lady or for a senior citizen rahter than discussing how we treat our mothers and sisters....every one gives respect to his/her mother/sister whatever may be his/her origin.......methods may be different and perceptions may be different.........expectations may be different!!!
If u just wanna discuss facts and figures of what INdia as acountry has achieved than we can start a thread like "INDIA--Facts n Figures"
No offences to anyone.....sorry if anybody finds ma language harsh!!!

Yes, you are so harsh!!! But, it explains your passion for India. The reason i started this thread because i wanted to see how manypeople think like me. Yes, i've done all the above mentioned points. And i feel lucky to perform my 'karma ' which was taught in the GITA. That way i am proud because we see this only in few other parts of the world.

i apologise for ma harshness.
and i m do pasionate abt india. The thing which u r reffering as ur "karma" taught in our holy book "Gita" are just good manners or etiquettes for me.Read some "Gita" then u'll realise what does it mean to do ur "karma" and expect nothing in return.
i have no problems with guys discussing greatness of india. The point i wanted to make ws that we must not be complacent jyst by discussing what india and indians have achieved.rather we must implement the great legacy of thie wonderful land inti our daily lives.
Happy discussing!!!!

reading all your views reminds me of a caption

Patriotism is a belief that my country is greater than yours because i was born here.

save a few, almost all will be proud of various things. even the way in which our infrastructure is handled will be looked in a very positive way when we are patriotic.

Rather than this, we should talk about how the new India we live in today is different from the India we knew 20 years back, and how we wish to make it different in the years to come

sorry dood.....i think you dint notice something. The thing i referred to karma is offering seat to senior citizens in buses and something like that. i NEVER READ gita. bUT, I know the essence of it. Just becuse i am from an orthodox dravidian brahmin family. And i was taught all these things at an age of 4.

Wonderful discussion.

Hpe more people join us.

If you would like to know the views of people you can start your own thread. The world accepts India is gr8. Then what the hell you wrote about patriotism and all the jazz. Anyway thanx for your contribution.
