ban on telemarketing calls

as a welcome step come oct there will be fine levied on telemarketers which will be a great relief to mobile users . BUt whats the effect gonna be on the thousands of people working mainly in banking and financial services ... will this effect the marketing of financial products in a big way ?

That's a big relief and had to happen. What next for telemarketing industry? I think they need to evolve themselves beyond the thoughtless brute-force marketing hammer that they are.

Respecting opt-in, turning telemarketing from one-off sales point to a relationship platform (eg - One telemarketer manages relationships for several people, and is the sole sales point for every service. I'd rather interact with one guy on phone who sells me everything: mobile, financial services, and also keeps the relationship for customer support. I'd begin to trust this guy over time and he'll know what my needs exactly are.) are some of the things.

Telemarketers will also have to warm up to and work on entering viral channels.

yeah this had to happen but it will effect employment in a major way i guess coz most new so called mba schools graduates are these days going into marketing of financial services etc i guess. i hope what happened in 2001 the tech bust doesnt happen now

If they are a really talented lot they will figure out better ways to market the products they are working for. If you leave it up to marketing guys they'll stoop to atrocious levels to sell or market stuff. Not everyone follows self regulation.

I am wondering how will it effect the junior level domestic tell calling executives.

I would be also interesting to watch out what alternative channels does marketing now break into. I hope its not something else just as annoying.

this can atleast ensure that u do not get promotional offers from airtel.
guess other operators must be having similar facilities
