Visualize yourself on your 50th birthday - 18-08-2007, 10:19 AM

hi everybody .Take 2-3 minutes and answer following. No limit for words

Visualize yourself on your 50th birthday. What would you want your critical stakeholders (could be your colleagues, your spouse, children or any such person who you consider critical) to say about you?

I am sure you are from a B School and have been shortlisted for a scholarship.

Do u want me to name the scholarship also??

Point is such questions are about YOU and people giving advise on it is not gonna be beneficial at all.

I M not BSchool student.
I m Doing engineering and this ques. is not scholarship.

This ques. was asked to me in 3rd round of HR interview and from his face expression it appeared he is not satisfied.

I just want to compare my answer with other fellows

Of course..it' as innocuous as that....

your words are exactly what the scholarship site's question asks..and it's open to Engg students also.:satisfie: Guess you need to really find out what you would be @ 50, than looking for ready made answers.....

Hi,

Agreed that the forum is not for readymade answers ,,but mufasa in case someone is confused,, maybe we could guide them a bit(even i am very new here) I was once supposed to write my Statement of Purpose and I was so lost. So my professor did the same thing which you guys said neha should do, but she gave me certain guidelines,,

1) whatever you say should have a flow, it should cum out like a story about u
2) you do not need to be great at the end of the course ,, you could luk for sum very basic learnings.
3) I remember for my summers interview my guide asked me where do i see myself 5 years from now and i said "with family". i was accepted even if that answer was least ambitious beacuse i was true to myself .

you should try to actually see where you will be, word it well and say it. last but not the least , not everyone will agree that u shud be "there" at the end of 50 yrs!! in case you are fine with it,, dont even think twice about the answer u gave and stick to it. i really dont think you need to compare your answers. its your life ,, your 50 years,, let them carry your imprints!!!

hope this helps and hope you get that scholarship / job
all the best

well Neha, if ur wordings are exactly the same as in the application form on the website, then y not also specify the word limits for the same???...junta give ur opnion to her within 1200 words

Really not expected of an enggr or a b-schooler shortlisted for the schol

No hard feelings..but do think hard before writing such sorta answers.

cheers!!!
vishu.

@kaptivate - agreed that the concept of the forum and this section in particular is help each other out... but then if you knew, you would observe that the words are 100% same..not even a single word is altered...and we are expected to "help" out under the garb that it's for comparisin to a question that the Prof asked, and which left the student none too happy!!!
This surely didnt go down well with me.... I mean what's the harm in saying that you need ideas for a form that you have to fill? Does it make you any less deserving.... that was my whole point.....

PS: even I am looking for "ideal" answers to the question...

Hey Mufasa,

cud u tell me what scholarship is this??
these kind of questions are normal for the interviews on campus,, so i assumed that it was pretty genuine

n as far as u r still trying to figure the answer to the question,, hope you find it soon,, and even if you dont,, the fun lies in the journey ,not the destination!!

cheers!
