Hey thanks !
No doubt Joomla is convenient inspite of the problems but the thing is that I found HTML, Java etc. pretty easy to understand and use.. may be becos I am familiar with C
I just want to know how difficult/ easy it is to manage the next part on my own..
The 'edit HTML' feature in Joomla is a bouncer! So I dont think I can use the layout I have created with HTML as a Joomla template..

If things dont work this way I ll definitely go back to Joomla but I would still prefer programming as I am atleast able to understand what is going on..

Why dont try and learn offline?? you dont need a web server to learn joomla.

All you need is a software called wamp server install the software and you will be up and running. Building a website is the easy part , promoting and getting traffic is the difficult one. Unless you are comfortable with the script and promotion method dont get expensive hosting.

Try a reseller hosting. If you need hosting PM me, I might get you one very cheap. I have many friends who do reseller business. They r offshore hosting

I got my first website online.. www.noiseokplease.com
It is an online community for musicians.. and has been completely coded and designed by me from scratch...

This is just the initial version which will be replaced by a better one in a few months... and this time I am planning to work with a platform..

Please do have a look and let me know about your views...

It's pretty basic. Use some CMS like Drupal or Joomla and customize the theme to your liking.
