i believe mark greatbatch is the ringer here..would that be the 1992 world-cup & the event player of the tournament. as i recall, was it wasim akram (??) who got that ??
later edit: it was definitely Martin Crowe.. Mark Greatbatch > NZ > Martin Crowe highest run-scorer

Hello 2 every1,
Here r the answers then...
1. One of us got it rite...Its indeed our former wicketkeeper cum dasher, Farooq Enginner.
2. This 1 was apparently easy, SRT was given run out on that historic tour of SA...No prizes for guessin the fielder in question...Yep, one Mr. Jonathan Rhodes it was...
3. No one cld quite guess this one...Well, David Boon, Shane Warne n Ricky Ponting won the ' Man of the Match' awards in the 3 World Cup Finals that Aus won...Boon in '87 for his 75 in the finals v/s Eng...Warne for his 4 wicket haul against Pak in '99 n Ponting for smashin his way to an unbeaten 140 against us in 2003...
4. Not quite tough this 1 either....Yes, SRT, Lara, Greatbatch, P.Kirsten n Martin Crowe were the final 5 players shortlisted for the coveted 'Player of the Tournament' award during the '92 WC played Down Under...Eventually Crowe won it for avergaing a staggering 90+ throughtout the tournament...
5. The 2 teams in question, England n France...
More questions 2nite n I'l try to deviate frm cricket to other sports...
Ha-p quizzing until then...
Regards,
Brij.

Answers to Sports Quiz... -
22-08-2005, 01:20 AM
Hi there,

Yep...South African born American Kevin Curren twas who was defeated by Boris Becker in th finals of the Wimbledon C'ships 1985...Becker incidently became the 1st German then to have won that title (Also the 1st unseeded player ever to have won the same)
Only 1 WC win, in the yr 1975.
Bank of Baroda twas who was sponsoring the activities of K.Humpy...Now ofcourse Rahul Dravid is their high profile brand ambassador...
Omega, the official timekeepr for the Beijing Games, 2008...
Roddick twas who paid that tribute to Fed Ex...Incidently the chap has lost yet again to his nemesis, jus an hr ago in the Cincinnati Finals...
Regards,
Brij.

eating disorder (with a psychological basis) where the individual goes on binges, then to "purge" himself by throwing up, etc. in order to avoid gaining weight
