PIN code is not the answer, though surely it is another important event. PIN is something restricted to India though, goes by different names in different countries.

The Ans here is, in 1840, British Post introduced "Penny Black", the first ever postage stamp. (Sasmit came pretty close). Why it is important is, before this, the onus of making a payment for a delivered letter, rested with the receiver. After 1840, the sender had to prefix stamps on a letter, that he wants delivered.

Hi guys ,

had been to tata crucible mumbai leg. I also participated and am cursuing myself for not
qualifying . ( Missed by one mark to tie-break )
The teams which qualified were 2 from JBIMS , 1 each from KJ Somiaya ( really good team ), SPCE ( they thought that rather than getting a zero we should have some figures on it so they finished with - 55 something ), one from NMIMS and NITIE.

However the team which qualified was JBIMS comprising of Dhanajay Shettigar and Mr. A Pandeya , These guys would be joined by IIM A , IIM C , ICFAI , IIFT etc.
One leg still to go of Pune.

Should say that Giri S is a superb host :-)

I shall post the questions at a later time.

Regards

Hi folks,

a couple of questions from Tata crucible -Mumbai edition.

1) Imran Khan had featured in a Soap ad many years ago. this brand is undergoing a great change altogether. name the brand.

2) This was an television ad which said that it started in 1979 and it had been over 25 years now. Think mumbai :-)

3) President of CII.

Did the 25 years ad feature a man and a woman , with the woman sitting on the man's lap? And another guy with a laptop.....and the tagline was....laptop 1979 - 2004?
was it?

Why wasn't C++ called ++C?
Frankly I don't know the answer.
This question is given as an assignment in the Lippman textbook.

Mate, I hope you were trying to be funny or something.....coz otherwise, this is derogatory.

In any case, this comment does not look very funny in print....kindly refrain from personal attacks. This ain't the forum for that.

PS - think twice before you post, mate.

cheers.

Well, even Bjarne Stroustrup in his book "The C++ Programming Language" (The bible for C++ programmers) does not elaborate on this. All he says is, "Connoisseurs of C semantics find the name C++, inferior to ++C".
From a trivia point of view, this name was coined by Rick Mascitti in the year 1983.
