Wow.. Geography meets Chronology meets Autobiography

Here's how my train chugged..

- Born in Mumbai, "Joshi Chikitsalaya"
- Immediately deported to Ranipul, Sikkim.. 3 kms from Bhutan border... & I was too young and ignorant to play 'one foot in India, other in Bhutan'
- Schooling in Darjeeling, 6 tender yrs in a hostel... my anatomy became a product of years of eating shudhh Tibetan grub
- Ireland for an year... also visited France & UK
- Mumbai for another year
- Enter Noo-dley.. this is where I got me some nonserious times pursuing serious education . Neverthless, I wholeheartedly despise this city
- And I'm bound for some cow-belt village for the next 6 weeks to trail some politico's campaign.

Places I've traveled: the whole of Uttaranchal state (the remotest villages, all major trekking trails.. that's my boon), much of western Maharashtra, HP, TN, Orissa.

Places I'd like to go to: Nagaland, New Zealand, Iceland and Greece (not neccessarily in that order )

My life history ...

Me "Made in TamilNadu"

Born in Pondicherry on Apr 13th 1980, Did my first yr of schooling there. Branded "Mr.Naughty" after a string of incidents that included breaking a tooth of my friend in a fight. Unfortunately that tooth never grew again and we laughed over the incident when i met him a few years back.

Moved to Madras in 1984, did 4 yrs of schooling. Nothing much accomplished.

Moved to Cuddalore (near Pondicherry) in 1988. Golden years, learnt cycling, represented South Arcot district in Cricket, learnt my first few bad words in Tamil :!:

Moved to Pondicherry again in 1993 and completed my schooling there. Moved to Chennai in 1997 and did my Mech Engg here. Working in a software company.

Visited B'lore, Kerala, Hyd, Delhi, Kulu Manali. Never been to Mumbai and planning to visit in June this yr.

Fluent in Tamil and English, broken Hindi, can understand Telugu and Malayalam (thanks to Gemini TV and Surya TV )

Cycle time does not mean you can take three women and have a baby in 3 months. It still takes nine months.

Wow...this thread is getting to be quite a muscateers re-union thread!!!!

FYI....u may have beaten us at Tennis (acknowledge the Mahesh bhupathi link) but i think academics was something ISG left Darsait behind... In any case its nice to get a chink of the old Darsait-Ghala rivalry again...been a long time...... btw i passed out of my 10th in '96....

I did know a couple of guys from darsait though.........lemme know whr u are..and mebbe we cud exchange notes on darsait and ghala and muscat in general.....Just been to the old place in Decembar...and whoa is it looking better than ever!!!! Muscat's become shopping mall paradise now......supermarkets and hypermarkets opening everyplace

Cheers,
Kavita
