Caricatures,Satire and Pseudo conversations of PGites -
22-04-2007, 10:28 PM
April 22, 2007: Sparks were bound to fly as the two most intelligent Pagals met in the financial heartland of India, Mumbai. What did they do?? Its a closely Guarded secret.
However, we are not going to disappoint our fellow Pagals here. We have got the information from our highly placed sources that they planned to get Sachin ousted from both ODI and test teams, Gandhi removed as the Father of the Nation, and conduct the witch-hunt for Sachin fans.
And yes, they also decided some consolidation of votes for keeping the Most Intelligent Poster award in between them.
This thread will be incomplete without DG's and Mike's inputs. But Lounge section is the full of admirers of both DG and Mike. So, come on Puys, pour your views for this moment of the century for our Country.

Subodh ... arent there enough threads in chit chat and lounge for fun and time pass?
Now, there have been many discussions and arguments over wot threads need to be closed or not, and how and why the quality of threads ( if it is ) is going down, so wont go into that much.
Every1 appreciates and likes MvB and DG.
Dont make it an issue if they met and had fun and a few laughs. If som1 is interested in knowing wot was discussed, they ll PM 1 or both or u for that matter .
P.S. - Dont jump on Mahip if he closes this thread .
Edit:
For the record this post was made when the thread was named " Desiguru meets MvB ACM No9" and subesquently closed.
As it is has been reopened under a new heading and given a new direction, u can ignore it ( in short , dont groan )

Come On, Pro.. What is Chit-Chat for?? And what does it mean?? If there are so many Happy Birthday threads, can't this one stay??
And anyways, I already contended that threads like those of man_fri and some of mine are not better suited to Chit-Chat rather for them some other section needs to be spinned off from Chit-Chat.
I started it with some Mindless Chit-Chat in mind, but still if Mahip thinks it needs to be closed let it be.

Re: Desiguru meets MvB ACM No9 -

This is how DG's and MvB's meeting went:
.................................................. ..................................................
DG: "Hail the Sackhim Jihad"...how have you been?
MvB: "Fire Duckdulakar"...I am fine.
DG: Man what a waste one year in IIM was!
MvB: You talking about 1 year?...I thought my 2 years were a big waste
...But anyways, we have suceeded...The selectors seems to have given some heed to what we were crying about.
DG: I am pleasantly surprised...Yeah "SackHim" has been sacked!
MvB: Even I am pleasantly surprised...Simply because I thought if I start crying about firing Sachin from 04, it might happen by 2010- when he would have defintely become a non-performer...but my prediction has gone wrong...it seems to have happened quite early!
DG: This in contrast to what I was expecting...I thought that sachin would never get fired, and the thread will live on for eternity...
MvB: Interesting!
DG: In hindsight, starting that thread, and continuing with it was a mistake...The whole strategy was to enjoy the thread and the entertainment, in the hope that the thread continues forever.
MvB: You mean to say that if you knew that Sachin was gonna be sacked in 2007, you would have started/sustained some other thread related to some other player, who you thought was probably never going to be sacked?
DG: Exactly, I regret myself, and regret the fact that noone else started "Is Dravid past his prime"...If I had any idea that Dravid was the best player 2-3 years back...I would have definetely started it.
MvB: Anyways who gives a fark?...The point is that we have won the debate...everyone has resigned from the thread...and we have had the last laugh...hahaah!....Glory be with MANU!!...Down with Sachin fans!
DG: Yeah true, but it was never debate for me...It was other more important things!
MvB: Aah! I know your profound theories of co-relation between economic non-development of India and Sachin's scores.
DG: Yes...if you see in 90s economic development of India was quite ordinary...If you see, most of Sachin's big scores came in 90s...Infact the moment he started underperforming, India's economic growth prospects are looking brighter. See the growth rates in last 1-2 years especially.
MvB: For me the thread was never about economics...When you are at War, you rarely think of economics...Once I made my position clear, I knew anyone who would disagree with me would get a pasting of a lifetime from me.
DG: Anyways, I think the thread has died down..so who's next in our line?
MvB: Dood I have already asked Subodh to come up with some ideas...he said he will start a thread to find out what the public opinion is and who are the most popular heroes/idols of theirs...All we have to do is just take an antagonistic view to that...Like suposse if we know the forumites are all raving for Ravi Shastri-because he effected sacking of sachin..we will start a thread..."Is shastri past him prime, and does he needs to be sacked?"
DG: Hey Subodh seems to be smsing me...he has already started some thread, and it seems that DG and MvB seem to be the most popular heroes of forumites...Damn!
MvB: Oh flip...so we will have to start a thread "Are DG and MvB past their prime"...Now that's gonna be a tuff one!
.................................................. .................................................. ..
Both of them were in a dillema: "Are DG and MvB past their primes?"...How can they take a contrarion view with respect to forumites, and defend the position that both of them are indeed past their primes...
It's paradoxical:
If they lose the debate/ fail to defend their position that "DG and MvB indeed are past their primes", it would actually prove their position that 'DG and MvB are past their primes"
If they suceed in winning the debate by taking the position that 'Dg and MvB are past their prime", it would actually disprove their position, and mean that 'Dg and mvB are still not past their primes"
I am confused as well...Let DG and MvB clear the confusion for us now!! If indeed, they came out with some solution to this paradox?
.................................................. ...............................
I think this thread deserves not to be locked!...Time and time again, we have had mods saying " whether the thread deserves to get locked/not depends on how good the posts are, rather than how relevant/good a topic is"...
...On that note...
Cheers!

Come on guys!! I am a fan of MvB and jumped at the opportunity to have a chat with him... Thats all... The contents of the meeting as pointed by subodh are highly confidential and Im still shocked that Plumber got hold of part of our conversation And about the past their primes thing... Errr... Unless someone starts making a few million dollars... He/She is not even considered to have reached his/her prime
have fun guys... And Good Luck for the results... Well They are coming soon

The pradox is so lame (Sar-chasm) that DG and MvB do not even need to refute it. Let their understudy (me ) do the honors: -
"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic."
-The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
I think everyone will recognize the parallels and the catch in both cases too. While DG and MvB are past their prime according to their intuition (they are still to earn the few million dollars), they are not according to logic and statistics. Plumber and Co. have been beaten at their own game.
And Plumber, how the hell did you manage to break in on the conversation. Even I was not party to it. Anyways, you have given a highly biased conversation..
Stay tuned for the neutral and elongated version of the conversation..

Rationally both of them would vehemently oppose the topic "DG and MvB are past their primes"...The way they debate, a person with a sane mind would never quite digest the idea, that they would actually agree with that sentence. And there would not be a debate Subodh, if we all agree with each other.

Oh, I expect Mike to come and post one long reply, giving all possible arguments regarding how they are not past their primes, and if anyone is past their primes, it is us. All forumites have always been past their primes. It would one long level-headed, objective, dispassionate post which would bore us to death.
You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today.
They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine.' So that was nice
