I am very much interested re.. but I don't think we can get even similar deal.... Though I am all open for trying.....
But My two cents on this matter.... "Get it from US...if possible"
most of the macbooks do not require service though its a piece of Electronics so anyting cud go wrong... but if you are willing to take that risk, pls chk this
The Apple Store (U.S.)

They are refurbished but as good as new and cheap.. though they disappear very fast from the site. This will mean buying it from US and either No service or buying out international service plan.. which will defeat the purpose of saving cost... and in anycase, Apple India has service plan for orphaned products (their term ) for 10K per year... thts arnd 250$. The NMiMS's Config will cost arnd 55K (1299$) with one year limited service (in US only ) [this wud pose a prob in case a particular part needs replaceement, otherwise the web support will be available to us also]

I am ready for buying in India also if we can strike a deal even as good as NM's. If anybody has found any Information about it, Let me know otherwise I willl buy from US in 15 days or so.

I just went to Bombays Lamington road. the prices for the Macbook have crashed. The same config is now available for Rs. 58000 MRP. With negotiations on a bulk deal it should come down to lesser than 54K

In that case, I just might be interested

I just saw an Apple Model at Reliance Digital Store here.

Idiots were giving 13.3" WXGA, 1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo, 512 MB RAM, DVD Writer model at Rs. 66K. I think it was not at all worthwhile..

I guess, the screensize is 14.XX WXGA or 15 WXGA. Thats why its cheaper with better config. Smaller and Lighter models are invariably expensive.. Otherwise, for all other Models, prices at Reliance Retail were reasonable..
